Real Housewives fans Down Under could be in for a treat. If the rumors are true, there could be some big names joining a beloved reality show. ITV Australia have reportedly gotten the rights to bring back The Real Housewives of Melbourne, which has been off the air since 2021.

The original run went for five seasons. The last season of the program was the first not to feature a reunion. In 2022, a potential renewal for the show was said to be under review.

Four years later, the green light was allegedly given to return, with a memorable name linked to the show.

There’s a lot for Real Housewives fans in the Victoria area to be excited about. The outlet Pedestrian says that the show is coming back.

The biggest name reportedly returning is Gina Liano. She was a fan favorite during its original run, having been on the show for four of the five seasons. Her popularity gave people behind the scenes the idea of a spinoff called Judge Gina, a show similar to the popular US program Judge Judy. The series was supposed to run for 40 half-hour episodes, but it wound up being scrapped.

The cast list floating around also has a bunch of newbies. Those currently linked are Tina Nettlefold, Jessie Roberts, Linda Caminiti, and Amy Tossoun. According to Pedestrian, other former cast members like Lydia Schiavello, Gamble Breaux, and Janet Roach were considered less essential.

Insiders describe the race for the show’s TV rights as one of the most competitive ever seen in Australia. The network reportedly beat out reality TV giants such as Endemol Shine Australia, BBC Studios Australia, Eureka Productions, and Warner Bros. Gina is among the most recognizable international stars from the franchise, known for bringing the drama.

The Real Housewives of Melbourne is supposedly set to return in 2027.
