In a sneak peek of the next episode of In The City, Kyle Cooke is trying to finalize the design on some Loverboy promotional items. Deciding he’d better get his wife’s input, he pops next door to their apartment, where Amanda Batula’s in the process of moving out.
“Whatcha doing?” Kyle asks.
“Trying to pack some of this sh*t up,” she replies.
The Summer House spinoff is providing a deeper insight
“After dropping the news to Kyle, and like, making the decision to move out, I feel lighter,” Amanda admits in a show confessional. “I feel good about this decision. I feel like this could be what we need to potentially save this relationship.” It’s sad to watch, since we all know that getting back together is probably not going to happen following her hookup with West Wilson.
“Are you going to have enough stuff where you’re going to need, like a van or a truck?” Kyle asks.
“I have no idea. Maybe we could pack up your car,” she suggests. “I mean, it’s not going to be, like, a crazy amount of sh*t. It’s like a month long vacation.”
When Kyle asks if she’s going to keep her key so she can “pop in” and surprise him, she asks, “Do you not want me here?” Then she accuses him of being “excited for me to leave,” but he says that’s “the opposite” of how he feels.
“I mean, we’re trying to figure this out, right?” she explains. “Spending some time apart, but, like, courting each other and dating again.”
Unfortunately, we all know what the future holds. Once Amanda gets free of Kyle’s emotional manipulation and tantrums, there’s no going back.
“I give you props for confronting this head on,” Kyle says, while Amanda, still packing, blurts out, “Oh, I need these sneakers, too. Just in case I need to run away.”
“Run away from your problems?” Kyle asks, to which she responds, “From you.”
“Wow. OK. Harsh,” he replies, crushed.
In The City airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. It streams the following day on Peacock.
