Kathy Griffin Hospitalized After Routine Colonoscopy

Kathy Griffin recently underwent a hospitalization following a routine colonoscopy. But thankfully, the actress and comedian is “home now,” where she belongs. Here’s everything we know.

What Kathy Griffin said after her hospitalization

As the Mayo Clinic defines, “A colonoscopy is a procedure used to examine the inside of the colon, rectum, and when indicated, the end of the small intestine.” They “screen for colorectal cancer even when there are no symptoms.” This procedure is incredibly common, and one that every adult should undergo, even knowing that Kathy just experienced a complication in hers.

Speaking of, on Instagram, Kathy penned a statement over a broken reel, thanks to a “screwed up” sound issue. Kathy “made this video for you guys because I’m TMI anyway,” she confessed. She then explained, “I spent the night in the hospital because I had complications from my colonoscopy. I know, I know, very sexy,” she joked.

But thankfully, Kathy ended, “I am home now with the doggies where I belong.” Fans immediately flocked to her comments, sending Kathy their well-wishes and notes to “take it easy.” Several also inserted a joke or two, which this comedian likely appreciated. “I wouldn’t try doing the splits for a while if I were you,” said one. “Just saying.”

Others offered Kathy a few tips for her healing journey. Tips like, “Keep your legs elevated and drink plenty of fluids.” And also, maybe she could use this time to “write another book!” But for the most part, everyone’s just “happy” that Kathy is home. And here, she will hopefully make a “speedy recovery.”

Kathy did not reveal what went wrong during her colonoscopy. But last year, Kathy underwent a hysterectomy due to a precancerous condition. In that post, she joked, “How do I NOT have a reality show to capture all of this??? I mean, you can’t write it. It’s too real.”
