Carl Radke has given an update on where his friendship with Amanda Batula stands after the Summer House reunion. While the epic (and much-anticipated) three-part reunion has yet to air — the first episode drops on May 26 — it was filmed weeks ago.
The Summer House star gave insight on where things stand post-reunion
Carl and Amanda built a friendship over the past decade filming Summer House. Beyond that, he is best friends with her now-estranged husband, Kyle Cooke, and even invested in his brand, Loverboy, which Amanda held a director role at until recently.
But Carl and Amanda’s friendship has struggled in the wake of the dating scandal involving her and West Wilson. They announced in February that they are now in a relationship, devastating not only their exes, Kyle and Ciara Miller, but also the entire cast and viewers of Summer House alike.
So, were Carl and Amanda able to make amends at the reunion? That question remains, given Carl’s most recent comments. “We’ve texted after the reunion,” he said on a recent Watch What Happens Live appearance. “She wished me luck in London, at the marathon. She wanted to try and catch up at some point … but I’m also just taking some time here.”
Things aren’t much better in terms of his friendship with West. “He texted me two different times right after the reunion,” Carl said. “I appreciate the texts … but even things that I’ve learned over the last week have just been like … the stuff keeps piling on and piling on. It’s messy.”
As for whether Carl thinks Amanda and West will “last” as a couple? “Absolutely not,” he said.
Nonetheless, Carl said relations within the cast have improved since the Summer House reunion taping. “I do think there was some slight progress because we got it all out,” he explained. “It was nuts.”
