During Part 1 of the Summer House Season 10 reunion, KJ Dillard emotionally opened up about his 2025 hospitalization. He went in for “self-harm.” And while he was in the hospital, KJ received a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). These days, he feels grateful to be “here alive.”
KJ Dillard opened up during an emotional moment at the Summer House reunion

Last night, the Summer House Season 10 reunion got off to a heated, messy start. But eventually, Andy Cohen switched gears, allowing other cast members a chance to speak their truths. During this time, KJ revealed that he went through “some heavy stuff mentally” in the fall. “I actually had to go to the hospital for self-harm,” he said.
“I was there for a week. Mia [Calabrese] and Ciara [Miller] were there almost every day,” KJ added. And after, he explained, KJ entered into a recovery phase for a few months, where he “got to focus on myself. I needed that,” he admitted.
KJ continued, “My whole life, I distracted myself and ran away from my issues instead of facing them head-on.” But now, KJ is in therapy and taking medication for his BPD. “I’m grateful that I’m here alive because I could have not been,” KJ stressed, adding, “I’m thankful for the support of my friends.”
Furthermore, KJ feels “very thankful that the audience is embracing that, because it’s my truth. I’m not gonna not be honest about what I’m going through, especially if it can help others.” At this point, Jesse Solomon comforted KJ, and as the men embraced, Jesse said, “I feel for you. I’m glad you’re good, because I don’t want anyone to go through that.”
Summer House airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It can be streamed on Peacock the next day.
