King Charles Is Rewriting the Rules for 2 Royals — Source

King Charles is reportedly moving to evict ex-Prince Andrew‘s daughters. The monarch wants Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie to vacate their royal homes, where they have been staying rent-free despite being non-working royals. To make sure everything is done by the rules, Charles has ordered a formal review of the rental arrangements involving the York sisters.

Ex-Prince Andrew’s daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, have been living rent-free on the royal estate, but now King Charles is keen on ending their housing arrangements to reshape his estate. Beatrice has been living in St James’s Palace, while Eugenie has accommodation within the Kensington Palace estate. With this move, Charles plans to get royal operations in place and make more efficient use of palace properties.

If sources are to be believed, royal officials had contacted the princesses last year and also made a request several months ago to look for “other options for when they need a base in London.” They were informed about the decision “as part of a wider reassessment of how royal properties are allocated and utilized.”

“Senior royal officials have made it increasingly clear that the accommodation arrangements currently enjoyed by Beatrice and Eugenie are not viewed as a permanent entitlement,” a palace insider told RadarOnline. The stern moves come due to the feeling “that palace residences need to be used in a way that better reflects the King’s long-term plans for the institution.”

The insider added that contrary to the belief, the move is “not about punishing either princess.” It is about “administrative and operational matter linked to broader changes taking place across the royal estate.” The source added, “While officials may describe the move as practical housekeeping, it sends a powerful message about priorities and about who is expected to occupy royal properties in the years ahead.”

Post vacating, Beatrice’s apartment might be converted into an office space, while Eugenie’s cottage might become an accommodation for a senior member of staff.
