Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro Trailer Reveals Cast

Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro will feature a ballroom battle like no other. The spinoff will feature 12 dancers showing off their moves in the ballroom, hoping to snag a role as a pro on Dancing with the Stars. The trailer for ABC and Hulu’s spinoff just dropped, and it teases fierce competition and plenty of drama.

DWTS: The Next Pro is hosted by Robert Irwin

The DWTS spinoff will feature last season’s Mirrorball champ, conservationist Robert Irwin, flexing his hosting skills. “We have searched the world of ballroom to find 12 of the best dancers from across the globe. The dancers will face demanding challenges from our incredible judges,” Robert announced in the trailer.

The judges for DWTS: The Next Pro are all familiar faces. Three-time Mirrorball champ Mark Ballas will be joined by his mom, Shirley Ballas, who is well-known as a longtime judge on Strictly Come Dancing. In addition, fans can expect to see DWTS pros Witney Carson, Britt Stewart, Jenna Johnson, Daniella Karagach, Brandon Armstrong, and Derek Hough take a turn at the judges’ table.

Meanwhile, the teaser showed the dancers struggling with tough choreography, injuries, and personality clashes. In an added twist, the group will also reside in the same house. Hello, bunk beds!

So, exactly who is competing in this ballroom rumble? The contestants include Selena Hamilton, who has toured with Doechii as a backup dancer. Of course, some of the contestants have ties to DWTS.

Pro Ezra Sosa’s sister, Stephani Sosa, is trying to make her mark in the ballroom, while Allen Genkin won the show’s 2012 Ballroom Battle Challenge. Plus, So You Think You Can Dance alum Benji Castro has his eyes on the prize, as does Jake Monreal, who competed in Dancing with the Stars Juniors. He later showed off his moves on SYTYCD Season 13.

In addition, AJ Pritchard will be in the mix. He competed on Britain’s Got Talent Season 7, and waltzed his way around the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom as a pro for four seasons.

Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro premieres on Monday, July 13, on ABC. Episodes will stream on Hulu the following day.
