While I understand being uncomfortable with your body image, pasting your own head onto a photo of another woman’s body is going a bit far. But apparently, that’s exactly what The Real Housewives of Potomac alum Mia Thornton recently did.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Mia allegedly photoshopped her face onto the body of influencer Sophie O’Neill. In the photo, Mia is wearing a skin-tight white dress and holding a small white Birkin bag. It’s a lovely photo … until you realize how amazingly similar it is to one that Sophie uploaded in 2025.
It wasn’t long before the actress/model called out Mia’s blatant chutzpah in the comments section of her post.
Did the former Real Housewives of Potomac star use Sophie O’Neill’s photo?

“@mrsmiathornton — super imposing yourself onto my picture. The world is a very scary place these days — this is just sad,” Sophie wrote. “Please can you remove the picture of ME with your head on it. Thanks.”
Rather than admitting her guilt, Mia posted a follow-up photo of herself wearing the identical dress. “Never needed clout,” the RHOP alum captioned the photo. “My name carries enough weight on its own.”
Even though she played innocent, fans weren’t buying what she was selling. If you look at the photos side by side, except for the faces, everything is identical, right down to the wrinkles on her sleeve. “She didn’t even try to hide it,” one social media poster commented.
In fact, netizens quickly turned the controversy into a social media meme. Several reality stars, including Housewives Tamra Judge and Sherée Whitfield, got in on the fun by re-posting versions of the photo with their own faces superimposed onto Sophie’s body.
Instead of backing quietly away from the issue, Mia again took to social media to defend herself. “Two seasons off Potomac… Y’all still talking about me,” she wrote. “I’m busy adding 000’s to my bottom line with AI. We are not the same. #therealdeal #bornentertainer.”
Finally, before deleting the altered photo, Mia somewhat confessed to her crime in the comments section. “She cute tho,” she wrote. “And we got her her 20 seconds of fame. So mission accomplished.”
The Real Housewives of Potomac is now streaming on Peacock.
