According to Radar Online, Prince Harry is reportedly encouraging Meghan Markle to reach out to Catherine, Princess of Wales, in what one source described as a final effort to begin mending the long-running rift within the Royal Family. The report claims Harry believes a private conversation between the two women could help open the door to broader reconciliation.
The report also claims Meghan agrees the idea is worth pursuing. According to the same source, making peace with Catherine could help demonstrate that she is serious about “turning over a new leaf.” Any meeting, however, would reportedly need to remain completely private because Catherine would not want such discussions to become part of a public relations narrative.
An insider alleged Harry still holds “a huge amount of love and respect” for Catherine and believes she would be willing to listen if Meghan approached her with the goal of “clearing the air.” While the source said he is not expecting years of conflict to disappear overnight, Harry reportedly sees the move as a chance to start rebuilding trust rather than solving every issue at once.
The insider further suggested Harry and Meghan may have practical reasons for improving relations before Prince William eventually becomes king. The report claims maintaining a better relationship with the future monarch and his wife could prove important for the couple’s standing within the royal family, though no official source has commented on that suggestion.
Harry’s reported desire for reconciliation echoes sentiments from his 2023 memoir Spare. In the book, he described Catherine as “carefree, sweet, and kind” and wrote that he viewed her as “the sister I’ve never had.” At the same time, the memoir also revisited several moments that contributed to tensions between Meghan and Catherine, including the widely discussed bridesmaid dress dispute.
