Queen Camilla reportedly “dropped everything” to witness Prince Harry’s private royal meeting with King Charles. Camilla rushed to Highgrove House, where Charles was hosting his son Harry and his daughter-in-law Meghan Markle, and their children, Archie and Lilibet, last Friday. As per sources, the Queen did not speak about the secret reunion to anybody.
Queen Camilla rushed to support King Charles during his reunion with Prince Harry, sources claim
As per a report by the Daily Express, Queen Camilla was present to support her husband, King Charles, during his reunion with Prince Harry. Buckingham Palace only confirmed the meeting once the Sussexes had left Highgrove and refused to divulge further details about the private affair.
However, a new Vanity Fair report has stated that sources close to the Sussexes shared that Charles only informed Camilla of the meeting and no one else. Notably, Prince William and Kate Middleton were not aware of the meeting as well.
The Queen, who was nearby at her Ray Mill House estate, reportedly drove over to Highgrove for the meeting in “quite a hurry.” A source shared with the outlet: “Charles wanted Camilla to be there for moral support and because she has been a pillar of strength for him throughout all the drama with Harry, and she dropped everything. She told no one, not even her family. She just got in the car and headed over.”
Notably, as per the source, everyone involved in the meeting was keen on keeping the reunion as “watertight as possible.” Previously, royal author Sally Bedell Smith claimed that Camilla was present as a “witness” during the King’s private reunion with his younger son (via Sky News).
Smith wrote in her Substack: “Significantly, Queen Camilla was by her husband’s side, not least to serve as a witness to Charles’ interactions with his volatile younger son. As she had been in February 2024 when Harry came to London after Charles’s cancer diagnosis was revealed.”
Interestingly, the Duke of Sussex does not seem to share a solid bond with his stepmother, as detailed by him in his memoir Spare. He described Camilla as a “wicked stepmother” in his book.
