Princess Eugenie’s first photo of her newborn daughter featured a subtle royal connection that many royal fans may have overlooked. The tiny outfit worn by the newest royal family member traced back to another European royal household with its own fascinating history.
The sweet snapshot arrived one day after Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank welcomed their third child. While the baby’s name remained a mystery, one fashion detail quickly caught royal watchers’ attention.
Princess Eugenie’s newborn wore Marie-Chantal London, founded by Crown Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece
Princess Eugenie and Jack celebrated becoming parents to a daughter after previously welcoming sons August and Ernest. Their daughter was born at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, on August 3.
Buckingham Palace confirmed the birth the following day, while Eugenie shared the first photo on Instagram. According to PEOPLE, the princess dressed her daughter in pieces from Marie-Chantal London, the luxury childrenswear label founded by Crown Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece.
The newborn wore the brand’s signature pink Pointelle Sleepsuit, complete with angel wings stitched onto the back. She also wore a matching hat featuring the label’s recognizable wing logo.
Marie-Chantal launched the company in 2000 after welcoming her son, Prince Achileas-Andreas.
“He had the most incredible hair and all these curls dotted in silvery specks,” she told Prestige in 2024. “The nurse in the hospital said, ‘Oh, my goodness, he’s like a little angel with this head of hair.’”
She explained that the touching moment inspired the now-famous angel-wing design, which eventually became the brand’s signature look.
The designer originally planned to create a cosmetics line before motherhood changed her direction. Today, Marie-Chantal London is sold through luxury retailers including Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, and Harrods.
Princess Eugenie’s choice also continued a family tradition. Her sister, Princess Beatrice, previously introduced her daughter, Athena, wrapped in the brand’s Angel Wing cashmere blanket after Athena’s premature birth in January 2025.
The brand also has ties to the former Greek royal family. Although Greece abolished its monarchy in 1973, Crown Prince Pavlos and Crown Princess Marie-Chantal remained prominent figures while raising their five children.
Despite the adorable debut, the couple has not yet announced their daughter’s name
