Rocky appeared on The Jason Lee Show for an interview released on Aug. 5 and clarified the much-debated clip of him and Rihanna circulating on the internet. According to People, the clip showed the couple sitting across from each other in a sprinter van. The two are shown rapt in conversation, something which fans detected as an argument.
The rapper said, “We was just talking,” adding, “I don’t know what we was talking about, but we was talking.” The rapper continued and expressed his annoyance with the people who liked to jump to conclusions. He said, “Even if we was arguing, it’s just like, why the f— are they so nosy? I don’t think we had an argument that night, I would’ve remembered that.” He also said that the pair was “exhausted” from the evening out.
Rocky also added a disclaimer about the fact that they are only humans and have “arguments” from time to time. The rapper pegged it as a natural part of life, as “life been life-ing”. The couple, who share children, were basically having a normal conversation that got blown out of proportion by their fans.
The couple appeared slightly late to the event. Rihanna stunned in a Maison Margiela couture gown by Glenn Martens. Rocky chose to flaunt a custom Chanel ensemble by Matthieu Blazy. Their looks, at once iconic, also stayed close to the event’s theme “Costume Art”. With Rihanna’s handcrafted couture and Rocky’s theatrical tailoring, their looks were a true reflection of the dress code.
The couple made their Met Gala debut together in 2021. Since then, the couple continues to turn heads at the Met in high-profile couture looks.
