The “Don’t Be Dumb” rapper appeared on “The Jason Lee Show”, where he spoke about music, family life, and raising his three children with longtime partner Rihanna. The conversation took a heartfelt turn when host Jason Lee surprised him with a video he had never seen before.
Lee asked Rocky if he remembered the first moments with his children, including when they first walked, talked, or crawled. The host then revealed that he had been present the day his daughter Rocki crawled for the first time and played the clip for the rapper.
Rocky’s face immediately lit up. “I did not know you were there that day. It’s crazy. I didn’t even see this video,” he said with a wide smile after watching his 11-month-old daughter reach the milestone.
The proud father also opened up about how he and Rihanna balance parenting while managing demanding careers. The rapper admitted they rely on plenty of support from family and caregivers. “It’s our mothers and our nannies. It’s a lot of help,” he explained. “I’d be lying if I told you we don’t got help. We got a lot of help. You need that.”
He acknowledged that not every family has the same support system. He added that his biggest priority is knowing his children are safe, loved, and cared for whenever work takes him away from home.
Rocky also shared how each of his children has a unique personality. While he described himself as a gentle and sensitive father, he admitted his daughter Rocki quickly proved she could hold her own.
“I was ultra, ultra gentle,” he said. “She turned out being the toughest, more than her brothers.” He laughed while recalling how she grabs his nose, pulls on his braids, and playfully roughhouses with him.
Despite their different personalities, Rocky insisted he treats all three children equally. “I’m a present dad. I don’t favoritize any of them,” he said. “They all have such different personalities that you love each of them for what it’s worth.”
The touching interview offered fans another glimpse into Rocky’s life away from the spotlight, where fatherhood remains one of his proudest roles.
