The source said they were seated next to the Duchess of Sussex throughout the meal and described Stewart’s version of events as “simply untrue.”
The source claimed Meghan did not discuss her European vacation in detail. Instead, she allegedly only mentioned that her family “had a great time.” The insider also said Meghan has long admired Stewart and enjoyed briefly meeting the lifestyle icon during the gathering.
Stewart had previously said she only exchanged a few words with Meghan. However, she believed the Duchess was talking with other guests about returning from visiting the royal family during her recent European trip.
Stewart made the remarks while reflecting on social gatherings in a recent interview. She described herself as someone who arrives just before dinner begins and leaves shortly after dessert.
