Victoria Gotti’s son Carmine Agnello headed to prison after a judge rejected another delay tied to his mother’s kidney transplant. The 39-year-old had hoped to donate his kidney to Victoria before beginning his 15-month sentence for a COVID-19 relief fraud scheme.
The transplant plans collapsed after Victoria developed a serious infection shortly before their scheduled surgery. Agnello then made one final attempt to postpone his surrender date, but the court refused.

Agnello surrendered Monday and entered the Federal Correctional Institution in Fairton, New Jersey, according to TMZ. The move followed efforts to postpone his prison report date so he could help his mother.
Agnello originally planned to surrender on July 20. He received an extension after doctors prepared him and Victoria for an Aug. 3 transplant. However, Victoria developed a serious infection shortly before surgery, forcing doctors to cancel the procedure.
The judge then gave Agnello until Aug. 10 to complete the donation. If the transplant happened, his surrender date would have moved to Sept. 18. Victoria ultimately could not receive medical clearance.
His attorney, Robert Beltrani, filed another request Monday, but the judge rejected it. The court only pushed Agnello’s reporting time back two hours.
The New York Post reported that prosecutors argued the transplant remained “not imminent” because doctors had not scheduled surgery. The judge reportedly found another delay “unjustified” because the procedure did not appear likely soon.
Beltrani argued that Agnello remained an ideal donor match. His filing stated, “It is undisputed that Carmine is a great match for Ms. Gotti … His ability to serve as her donor is imperative to the transplant team’s determination on a surgery date.”
Agnello pleaded guilty in 2024 to a $1.1 million wire fraud scheme involving COVID-19 relief loans. He received 15 months behind bars and was ordered to pay $1.2 million in restitution.
Sources described the situation as emotional, saying Agnello wanted to complete the transplant rather than avoid punishment. Victoria, known for “Growing Up Gotti,” continues to face serious kidney disease complications.
Agnello also carried a famous family connection as John Gotti’s grandson and godson. The late Gambino crime boss remained a major part of the family’s public history.
For now, Agnello’s prison sentence has begun while his mother’s kidney transplant remains unresolved.
