According to TMZ’s coverage, the 51-year-old rapper and his ex-wife have reached an agreement on issues involving property and child custody, bringing their long-running legal battle closer to a conclusion. However, despite the settlement, Xzibit has filed court documents claiming a $1.6 million loss. He has also made a new request before the judge.
According to the filing, the American rapper and actor says he has spent $1.6 million over the past five years on legal fees and other expenses related to the case. This includes $400,000 that he says he paid toward his ex-wife’s attorney fees.
According to Xzibit’s court filing, he alleges that his ex-wife and her attorney took an aggressive approach and prolonged the legal proceedings instead of reaching a settlement. He claims this strategy delayed an agreement while also driving up the overall cost of the case.
With this in mind, the Michigan-born rapper has asked the judge to impose at least a $200,000 penalty on Krista. Xzibit alleges that his ex-wife and her attorney deliberately prolonged the case to intimidate and harass him. He argues that they should face sanctions as a result.
Xzibit and Krista Joiner’s relationship began in 2001 when the couple started dating. In 2008, they welcomed their son, Xavier, who tragically passed away just 11 days after his birth. They later welcomed another son, Gatlyn, in 2010.
The couple officially married in November 2014. However, their relationship eventually came to an end, with Krista filing for divorce in February 2021. The divorce was finalized in 2025, officially making both of them legally single.
