Mary Cosby’s ‘RHOSLC’ Return After Son’s Death Left Meredith Marks in Awe

Mary Cosby received praise from Meredith Marks after filming RHOSLC Season 7. Cosby continued filming following the death of her son, Robert Jr. Marks called her strength inspirational. However, she admitted the upcoming season could be difficult for Cosby.

Meredith praised Mary for filming RHOSLC Season 7 following the death of Robert Jr.

Marks discussed Cosby’s return during an appearance on the Australian radio show Jase, Lauren & Clint. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star praised Cosby’s approach to filming. She said Cosby handled the aftermath “so beautifully.”

“Mary, you’ll see, her strength is so inspirational,” Marks said. She also said viewers would find Cosby’s journey “really incredible to watch.”

Robert Jr. died at 23 in February after an apparent overdose. Officers responded to an overdose call before the situation became a death investigation. He was reportedly unconscious and received Narcan before his death.

Cosby and her husband, Robert Sr., later shared a statement about their son. They described Robert Jr. as their “beloved son.” The couple also said they found comfort in their faith during their grief.

Marks acknowledged that filming could help Cosby during such a painful period. She suggested RHOSLC gave Cosby another focus during the difficult time. However, Marks also recognised the emotional cost of reality television.

“That’s the downside to reality TV,” Marks explained. “You relive things later.” She added that watching the season could be especially difficult for Cosby.

Robert Jr.’s addiction struggles had previously appeared on RHOSLC. His battle was explored during Seasons 5 and 6 of the Bravo series. Cosby had therefore already shared parts of his difficult journey publicly.

The Season 7 trailer also showed Cosby thanking her castmates. “I could not have gotten through without you guys,” she said. Cosby credited her friends for being there after her son’s death.

Marks and Cosby will return for Season 7 alongside several familiar cast members. The cast includes Heather Gay, Lisa Barlow and Whitney Rose. Angie Katsanevas and Bronwyn Newport will also return.

RHOSLC Season 7 premieres September 16 at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo. The Season will show Cosby navigating grief while remaining part of the cast.
