Captain Lee Gets New ‘Deadly Waters’ Job on Oxygen

Captain Lee Rosbach is back for a new stint on TV. The Stud of the Sea left Below Deck in Season 10 after suffering from health issues. Presumably, the job had become too physically demanding, and he had to step away. Captain Kerry Titheridge of Below Deck Adventure was chosen to take over.

So what’s Captain Lee’s new gig? Well, apparently dealing with rowdy and demanding charter guests isn’t the worst that can happen on the ocean. Bad weather and mechanical difficulties are also standard issues on the high seas.

But when unthinkable things happen, issues of intrigue and maritime law come into play. Yes, Captain Sandy Yawn’s kind of maritime law.

Captain Lee’s new show Deadly Waters will premiere in late 2024

According to Deadline, Captain Lee is now filming Deadly Waters for Oxygen. The report says the show “follows murders that take place in the open waters and oceans.” It’s expected to debut later this year.

For sure an interesting concept, that combines human’s morbid interest in true crime with a little learning curve about how laws work on international waters. It’s a complex system involving international treaties and a system of maritime borders. Having the Below Deck crew changing the flag on the back of the vessel isn’t just for show.

When considering jurisdiction of a crime of this kind, one has to take into account territorial waters, which country owns the vessel, and the citizenship of the perpetrator. Captain Sandy knows all about that.

Presumably, Captain Lee can rely on his expertise and experience to explain each scenario, without having the physical rigors of managing a vessel. Below Deck fans will be happy to have him back.

There were no further details about how the show will be presented. But Lee’s pithy commentary will make this a must-see.
