Kyle Richards Admits Current Living Situation ‘Can’t Stay Like That Forever’

Kyle Richards knows her current living situation with Mauricio Umansky and the kids is unsustainable. That would seem to suggest there’s no plan to undo the couple’s separation.

At this point, Kyle and Mauricio could try to make things work. Or, they’d have to start discussing their next steps, for their kids’ sake. Of course, as Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans know, Kyle’s separation has been one of the most prolonged in reality TV history.

Indeed, the couple doesn’t seem eager to discuss next steps. Perhaps Buying Beverly Hills will change that perception. Until then, all Kyle could do was identify the problem.

Kyle discusses her family’s “new normal”

In her recent appearance on the Drew Barrymore Show, Kyle shared, “We’re learning to sort of navigate this new normal. My husband and I are still under the same roof with our daughters, just different bedrooms. Which feels very strange to share so publicly, but that’s another part of doing what we do.”

She continued, “Because we are fortunate enough to have other homes and sort of like moving around and keeping our daughters in the same house. Even though three of them are adults, [Portia Umansky is] 15, but it’s working for now.” At least Kyle could acknowledge her privilege.

However, despite how things were operating “for now,” Kyle knew it wouldn’t be sustainable. “Obviously it’s not going to stay like that, it can’t stay like that forever. Because of my kid’s ages, it’s not like they’re toddlers, so eventually we’ll figure it out and take it to the next step, whichever that step may be.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 reunion concludes next Wednesday, March 13, at 8/7c on Bravo. Buying Beverly Hills Season 2 begins streaming on Netflix on March 22.
