Kyle Cooke’s Best and Worst Moments on Summer House

For me, Kyle Cooke is the foundation of what makes Summer House so damn enjoyable. Yes, he is 41 years old and a proper man-child, but he is the life of the party EVERY. SINGLE. WEEKEND. He is a one-man party machine, and for the most part, he is hilarious, especially in his late-night kitchen babbles. But from time to time, the Loverboy founder has been known to lose his cool. However, I can’t stay mad at Kyle for too long since he always finds a way to redeem himself.

Bad: Kyle loses it on Lindsay

During Season 7, there was a lot of tension within the Summer House rental, mainly due to Carl Radke and Kyle’s kind of fallout. After Lindsay Hubbard made Amanda Batula cry during a game night, the Loverboy founder lost his cool and proceeded to go on an angry tangent. During his tirade, Kyle blamed the PR guru for his own falling out with Carl. Clearly, some deep-set emotions were buried, but it was nice to see Kyle stick up for Amanda.

Kyle called Lindsay every name under the sun, including a “fu*king psycho.” The moment reminded me of when a toddler curses for the first time, and you don’t want to laugh, but you almost can’t help yourself. Even though Kyle had a point that everyone was giving Lindsay too much power, he went about it the wrong way. Luckily, there isn’t anything some Fireball can’t fix, and all was eventually smoothed over.

Good: Kyle vs. Stassi

Perhaps one of the best Kyle moments is when he was in the hot tub with Stassi Schroeder, trying his best to hit on her but failing miserably. Drunk as a skunk, Kyle proceeded to make a fool of himself as he forgot Stassi’s name only two seconds after being told it. But the icing on the cake was how he compared her bathing suit fashion to Steve Jobs’s famed turtle neck.

According to Kyle, “Every time he meets someone who seems cool, I pretend to forget their name.” Kyle then solidifies his rejection by noting, “Steve Jobs is an idol of mine. I just thought I’d throw it out there. And Stassi just thought she’d throw Kyle back into the dating pond.

Bad: Kyle curses Hannah out

Wedding planning is not easy, but it doesn’t give you a free get-out-of-jail card to act like an ass! During a sit-down family dinner with the roomies, Kyle lost it on Hannah Berner, Paige DeSorbo, and Amanda because they were giggling. Yes, the ladies were being rude, but their group name is literally called the Giggly Squad! Kyle’s anger got the best of him as he slammed the table and aimed his outburst at the stand-up comedian.

The fight was asinine, but Kyle escalated it quickly, accusing his roommates of having a “generational gap.” Hannah was shut down repeatedly as Kyle’s voice overpowered hers. The blonde hot head then told Hannah to get “a grip” and to “fu*k off.” As you would expect, Amanda broke down in tears, and Hannah just thanked her lucky stars that she wasn’t the woman marrying Kyle.

Bad: Kyle cheats

Kyle wasn’t always the best boyfriend in the world, and he often stepped out on Amanda. While there were multiple instances, perhaps the worst was when Kyle couldn’t remember if he had hooked up with someone on a Montauk night out. All Kyle could come up with was, “If it happened, I’m an a**hole.” Amanda was left devastated as she pointed out no rumors were going around about her. The moment showed Kyle he had to shape up or ship out.

Good: Kyle vs. a bag of chips

The battle of the chips happened on a Summer House night out that ended at 1:17, as Kyle was the last man standing after a full night of partying. Handful after handful of the salty snacks kept being shoveled into his mouth, but Kyle started to feel a bit sleepy somewhere along the line. Amanda tried to help her man out by slapping him awake and pointing out the crumbs on his shirt. Yet all she got was a garbled “Arrghhh” as if she was waking Godzilla himself.
