Real Housewives of New Jersey OG star Teresa Giudice certainly makes a splash wherever she goes. Now whether it’s a positive or negative one remains to be seen, but she’s been a reality TV staple for years and it’s not surprising shows want her. One show that came knocking was Celebrity Big Brother. But Teresa turned it down for one very big reason.
It’s not surprising that Teresa would be spending her time on other shows. The fate of RHONJ remains uncertain. During the pause, Teresa has worked on her podcast and spent time with her daughter. She even appeared on Gia Giudice’s new show Next Gen NYC. But she decided to give Big Brother a pass because of a certain requirement.

On a recent episode of Turning The Tables by Teresa Giudice, the housewife sat down with Big Brother 15 finalist GinaMarie Zimmerman. The two ladies talked about the show, the emotional toll of reality television, and why Teresa doesn’t want to do Big Brother.
“They did ask me to be on Big Brother,” Teresa revealed. “And I said no, because they said they’d take your phones away.” This requirement was a dealbreaker for her and why she made the decision to pass.
“You would be freaking amazing on it because you would kick everybody’s ass,” GinaMarie gushed. “They would all be scared of you, in a good way because you got that Jersey New York strong. And people fear that sometimes and it would work for your benefit.”
She added that she felt it worked for her benefit too as people from New York have tough skin and are strong in general. However, GinaMarie did admit that they do take the contestants’ phones, with players not allowed to talk to their families and friends. Essentially, they don’t know what’s going on in the outside world.
She asked Teresa if she was allowed to have her phone while she was on House of Villains and Teresa confirmed she could use her phone in the morning and again at night. That’s why she agreed to do it. Plus the whole show was only about a month. Unlike the three months of Big Brother.
“I have four kids so there’s no way I could go without a phone for three months,” Teresa admitted. “I’m a mom first before anything else.”
