Real Housewives of Salt Lake City returns! Season 6 will premiere on Wednesday, September 16 on Bravo. The network released the first trailer for the upcoming season on August 14, and it appears we are in for another season of complete chaos. Thank you Bravo Gods and Lisa Barlow for your service! All the usual suspects are featured in the trailer. Lisa, Heather Gay, Meredith Marks, Whitney Rose, Angie Katsanevas, Mary Cosby, and Bronwyn Newport are renewing their snowflake status. Season 5 “Friend Of” Britani Bateman will also return, but hopefully we’ve seen the last of Jared Osmond.
The trailer is jam-packed with drama, secrets, and easter eggs about what is to come in Season 6. I’ve rewatched it four times … don’t judge! While we wait for the premiere, let’s unpack the trailer together.
Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6 trailer
Fractured friendships, cheating rumors, a trip to Angie’s beloved Greece, and a Below Deck crossover. The Season 6 trailer promises a whole lot of fun and drama. One thing is for certain, the women of RHOSLC know how to put on a good show. I thought Season 5 was juicy, but the Season 6 trailer has me feverishly texting my Bravo group chat with theories about Lisa’s financial woes and Mary and Angie’s friendship fallout. Let’s dive into all the drama. Here are the highlights.
Captain Jason makes his RHOSLC debut
I did not expect to see Below Deck Down Under star Captain Jason in the RHOSLC trailer, but I welcome him with open arms. The ladies are greeted by the Bravo hunk during their trip to Greece as they plan to board a yacht. In the trailer, Jason tells the women he plans to “get them nice and wet.” …..He is, of course, referring to the water, but we know Bravo loves a sexual innuendo. I’m putting money on one of the single RHOSLC ladies hitting on Captain Jason.
Lisa and John face marital struggles
Lisa and John Barlow always seem like the perfect couple, but it appears there may be trouble in paradise. In the trailer, Lisa tells John, “I feel like we are on different pages.” The video then cuts to Lisa receiving a Tarot card reading. The Tarot Reader asks Lisa why she feels she is “rebuilding trust” with her husband. The comment brings her to tears. She doesn’t offer much of an explanation. She simply says she doesn’t know why she feels that way.
Mary shares update on Robert Jr.
In Season 5, Mary opened up about her son’s issues with addiction. She revealed to Angie that Robert Jr. admitted to trying drugs, including acid, Molly, cocaine, Oxycontin, and heroin. After his confession, he entered a 30-day rehab program. Mary gave an update on his recovery in the Season 6 trailer.
“He’s doing as well as he can,” she told Whitney. “Some days he’s good, some days he’s not.”
Angie teases co-star’s financial woes
Leave it to Angie to spread a rumor. She’s basically Salt Lake City’s Town Crier and I love that about her. She’s always damaging someone’s reputation with some unproven claim. This year, her target appears to be Lisa. In one scene, Angie tells Meredith, “There’s things out there about bankruptcy and shoplifting.” She doesn’t mention a name, but we suspect it’s Lisa because the trailer then cuts to Lisa screaming at Angie.
“YOU QUESTION EVERY SINGLE F*CKING THING I HAVE,” she shouts while wearing Kyle Richards cosplay (not really, but she is wearing a hat that resembles Kyle’s beloved Kemo Sabe western accessory). Close enough.
There is another comment later in the trailer that further leads me to believe Lisa is the subject of Angie’s bankruptcy claim. Lisa and Bronwyn are fighting at a party. The argument turns nasty when Bronwyn says to Lisa, “You should go to work and pay off those f*cking lawsuits.” Yikes. Now, Lisa responds to this comment in a way I could’ve never predicted. She fires back at Bronwyn by calling her a “gout d*cksucker,” a dig at B’s age-gap marriage. LISA!!!! Something tells me the Mormon community will not be pleased. Honor code what!
