If you’ve been missing Love Island, you’re in luck, because Love Island Games Season 2 is set to premiere very soon! This Love Island spin-off features past contestants from the UK original, Love Island USA, Love Island Australia, and more. This lead to lots of fun crossovers and long distance romances to root for in Season 1. Think of this spin-off as Love Island All Stars with a twist!
The first season of Love Island Games aired back in November 2023, so it’s been a long wait for round 2! Notably, there are some changes this time around. Here’s everything we know about Love Island Games Season 2 so far.
When does Love Island Games Season 2 premiere?
Love Island Games will premiere Tuesday September 16 on Peacock. The premiere date was confirmed alongside a cute promo video with Love Island USA host Ariana Madix. Ariana will take over as host of Love Island Games in Season 2. Maya Jama, host of Love Island UK, emceed Season 1. Meanwhile, Iain Stirling will return as the show’s narrator. Aftersun host Maura Higgins, who missed out on Season 7 because of filming The Traitors, will take on social media duties. And the series will take place at the LI USA villa in Fiji.
In the Peacock promotional video, Ariana explains how Love Island Games works. As she put it, this spin-off sees fan favorite LI alums “getting physical in high-stakes challenges to win the ultimate game of love.” Per the usual Love Island formula, new “bombshell” contestants will enter the villa to stir things up throughout the season. In Season 1, bombshells appeared from Love Island Germany and Sweden! Like Love Island USA, the winners of Love Island Games receive a $100k cash prize.
Can viewers vote in Love Island Games Season 2?
Yes, viewers can vote in Love Island Game Season 2. And this is a big change from Love Island Games Season 1. In the first season, contestants fates were just decided by their fellow Islanders and by their performances in the challenges.
Expect the Love Island Games voting process and rules to work the same as it does for Love Island USA. So, if you deleted the official LI USA app from your phone after the Season 7 finale, it’s time to download it back!
Hopefully, voters won’t be biased towards Islanders from the states, and will show Islanders from the UK, Australia, and beyond some love as well! In Season 1, Australia’s Callum Hole became such a fan favorite, he’s now a regular on LI USA Aftersun and as a social media ambassador. So, you never know which international stars might win viewers’ hearts!
Love Island Games Season 2 cast speculation
Once Love Island Games Season 2 was announced, fans began to speculate about which Islanders would return for another shot at love. Unlike Love Island All Stars, which sticks exclusively to stars from the UK, the casting net is much wider. And previous winners aren’t off limits either! Last time, Love Island USA Season 2 winner Justine Ndiba returned and won, making her the first (and so far only) person to win Love Island twice. Justine didn’t find love on Netflix’s Perfect Match, so will she return a third time? We’ll have to wait and see.
As of now, LI USA Season 5 stars Kassy Castillo and KayKay Gray reportedly signed on.
So far, a few stars have publicly declined. The newly single Season 6 star JaNa Craig said she isn’t interested to compete on Season 2. She also doubts her co-star Rob Rausch will return to Fiji.
I won’t be surprised if LI USA Season 7 cast members appear, since the most recent season was a ratings juggernaut. However, Jeremiah Brown revealed he turned down an offer to appear on the show.
Hopefully, Peacock will drop an official cast list once it gets closer to the September 16 Season 2 premiere date.
