Real Housewives of Potomac fans were shocked when Karen Huger was arrested following a car accident in Potomac. Her car struck several trees and street signs, and thankfully, no one else was involved in the incident. However, bodycam footage showed a much different Karen. She cursed at officers and exhibited slurred speech.
In December 2024, the Grande Dame was convicted of driving under the influence, plus several other charges. The RHOP star received a two-year prison term, with one year suspended. She was also ordered to pay $2,900 in fines and will have five years of probation. My, how the tables have turned for Karen.
Could Karen Huger return to Real Housewives of Potomac filming after her prison release?
TheJasmineBrand reported that Karen will be released on September 2, 2025. She cannot get behind the wheel for one year after her release.
Karen previously applied to a work-release program, which would have allowed her to stay in a rehab center rather than the Montgomery County Jail. In this situation, the inmates must apply for jobs that meet a strict criteria. However, a judge denied her request.
Meanwhile, Karen’s RHOP co-star, Gizelle Bryant, was worried about Karen’s life behind bars. “I have been in contact with someone who’s very close to her about her safety and all that,” Gizelle previously stated. “And from what I understand, they love her up [in] where she is right now.” She added that Karen “is running that thing.”
So, does this pave the way for Karen to film for RHOP? It seems that Karen has been focused on her future after getting out of prison. While it remains to be seen if her Potomac co-stars would welcome her back, at least it is an option. And what is RHOP without the Grande Dame?
