RHOSLC Star Bronwyn Newport’s Ex-Husband Calls Her ‘Social Climber’ Using ‘Fake Persona’ on Show

Bronwyn Newport hasn’t wasted any time shaking things up on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

Since joining the show last year for Season 5, she’s served up hot dog couture, brag-worthy lifestyle claims, and plenty of drama with her frenemy, Lisa Barlow. She even admitted to fibbing about Todd Bradley, her much older husband, buying her a multi-million-dollar diamond necklace.

From the drama to the confessions, Bronwyn has already become a memorable part of the cast, and it seems that will continue for Season 6. But while her co-stars have called her out on screen, the sharpest criticism is now coming from someone who once knew her best.

Bronwyn Newport is under fire over her RHOSLC performance from ex-husband Brodie Stringer

Brodie Stringer, Bronwyn’s ex-husband, is opening up about their brief marriage and what he sees as her “fake” on-screen persona. The two grew up together in California and tied the knot in 2009, only to divorce a year later. Bronwyn has never spoken about this first marriage on the show, choosing instead to highlight her life with Todd.

In a conversation with The U.S. Sun, Brodie said he wasn’t shocked that Bronwyn chased the spotlight. “That’s just how she’s always been. You know, and good for her. She got what she wanted, and she’s halfway there, I guess.”

He went on to call her “always this kind of social climber,” claiming she’s long used a “fake persona” to impress people. “It’s the Wizard of Oz behind the screen,” he added, suggesting she’s very different when the cameras aren’t rolling.

Brodie also noted that even from the clips he has seen, Bronwyn comes across as calculating. “She just seems, maybe, a little more calculated in how she’s manipulating people,” he said. According to him, she thrives on drama and doesn’t seem genuinely happy.

Lisa has voiced similar concerns on the show, accusing Bronwyn of lying and chasing status. Their fallout became a major storyline last season, fueling speculation among fans about Bronwyn’s true character.

Despite the criticism, Brodie insisted he holds no grudges. He said he wishes “nothing but the best” for his ex, though he admitted if he were Todd, he would “stay far away from that show.”

So far, Bronwyn hasn’t commented on Brodie’s interview.

Bronwyn addressed her and Brodie’s past on Instagram earlier this year after fans unearthed old photos, reminding followers that Brodie is not her daughter Gwen’s father.

Still, her history and her ex-husband’s words add more fuel to the fire already surrounding her. And if Housewives fans know anything, it’s that fire is exactly what keeps us watching.

Season 6 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City continues Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams the next day on Peacock. Viewers in the U.K. and Ireland can watch on Hayu.
