Meghan Markle Disliked by Monarchists Because of How She Dealt With Relationships, Says Expert

Meghan Markle, the actor from Suits, is facing increased discontent from the public, and it’s not related to her royal background or Hollywood ambitions. The core issue revolves around her family ties, or lack thereof.

U.S. royal commentators have pointed out that Markle struggles to win the hearts of Americans, and it is due to the estrangement from her father, Thomas Markle, and her in-laws.

Meghan Markle’s ‘independent woman’ narrative is fading, says source

According to Radar Online, the perception of Meghan Markle across the Atlantic is changing. People do not like that the ‘Suits’ actor’s decision to distance herself not only from her family but also from her in-laws. Sources say this has created a ‘sentimental scar’ among American audiences.

Doing this is perceived by the U.S. audience as a betrayal of family values and lacks warmth, feeling ‘cold and transactional’.

Royal biographer Ingrid Seward also noted, Meghan is the ‘flea in the ointment’. According to his account, “She’s disliked intensely by a large number of the monarchists of this country.”

The Royal biographer claimed that it impacts the Royal family negatively, which seems to bother a lot of people.

When Meghan Markle relocated to California for a short time, she was viewed as a role model for strong, independent women in the 21st century. But more time has passed, and that narrative has faded.

Americans have strong feelings when it comes to family. Many feel the notion of cutting ties with her father or openly shaming her in-laws feels heartless and a bit too business-like. It lacks warmth and feels cold, like a transaction.

Family means more than personal pride, and that’s why some Americans relate less to Meghan. She seems ready to sever connections, be it with the royals or her father, and that’s where Americans struggle to relate. It strikes an emotional chord, and it’s less about politics or race than it is about the heart.
