Aaron Phypers Claim Police Never Interviewed Him Before Arrest on Alleged Domestic Violence

Trigger Warning: This article contains a discussion of domestic violence allegations.

After his shocking courtroom arrest last week, Aaron Phypers and his lawyer are speaking out, and they feel like his side of the story hasn’t been fully heard.

The estranged husband of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Denise Richards got slapped with four felony charges related to alleged domestic violence. However, Aaron and his attorney vehemently denied the claims, and they insist he’s actually a victim in all of this.

On Friday, October 17, Aaron was arrested following a court hearing over a restraining order. He got charged with two felony counts of injuring a spouse and two felony counts of dissuading a witness by force or threat. He was released after posting a $200,000 bond.

In a statement to TMZ, Aaron’s lawyer, Michael Finley, said they were blindsided by the arrest. They said the cops took Aaron without hearing his side of the domestic violence claims. However, it’s worth pointing out that the cops don’t need to get Aaron’s side of the story. If the judge determined probable cause, that’s all they need to issue an arrest warrant.

Either way, Aaron’s lawyer complained that the last time they spoke to the police was when Aaron raised his own allegations against Denise. Earlier this summer, shortly after the divorce filing, Aaron filed a report against Denise for alleged vandalism, theft, and assault. Aaron’s attorney said the cops never followed up on it.

With that in mind, the lawyer called the situation “outrageous.” He also credited “people who care” about Aaron as the reason he was able to post the $200,000 bail.

Now that he’s out of jail, Aaron’s lawyer said they plan to continue working together on the divorce-related matters. He’s also helping him find a criminal defense attorney to fight the four felony charges. Meanwhile, the exes are due back in court next month for the next hearing on the restraining order.
