It appears Meghan Markle accidentally broke her own rule about not publicizing her children’s faces. The Duchess of Sussex and her husband, Prince Harry, quickly deleted an Instagram reel that included a frontal view of their two older kids.
The couple was filming their Halloween festivities in their Montecito, California backyard. In the video, Prince Harry demonstrated how to carve a pumpkin. His children Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4, ran into the frame.
Meghan Markle accidentally posted a photo of her and Prince Harry’s children’s faces

In the Instagram clip, the kids’ faces were seen a couple seconds into the video when it was accidentally posted on Sunday, October 26. The rest of the shots showed them from behind, which is typical for the children. Both Archie and Lilibet were distinguished by their clothes in photos taken from behind. Archie ran around in a dark short-sleeved top. Lilibet, who wore a matching pink knit outfit, sat in a wheelbarrow looking at small pumpkins. The children were playing behind their father while he gutted a jack-o’-lantern, seeds and all. The family picked their pumpkins from a lot in nearby Santa Barbara for the upcoming Halloween holiday.
In the clip, Lilibet was seen briefly. Because she was moving around quickly, her face was mostly blurred. Archie is seen running in front of his sister while Harry is carving the pumpkin’s eyes into traditional triangles. Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, and an unidentified friend also could be seen in the clip. Since the family retired from royal life back in 2020, they have not shown their children’s faces due to security concerns.
The last time the royal children were viewed from the front was in the family’s December 2021 Christmas card. At that time, Archie sat on Harry’s lap, and the couple was looking at little Lilibet, who was being lifted in the air by her mother. This professional photo was taken by Alexi Lubomirski, who also shot the couple’s May 2018 wedding.
Meghan has been showing more shots of her children, albeit from behind, prior to the launch of her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan. This includes shots of her brood helping her in the kitchen and garden.
