Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing fresh allegations of targeting TV presenter Mark Dolan. The news surfaced amid renewed media scrutiny of the royal couple following their recent public appearances. The British broadcaster, known for his outspoken views on the Royal Family, has previously discussed the Sussexes on television and in newspaper columns, often taking a critical stance.
TV presenter claims he is ‘marked’ by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Mark Dolan alleged he faced a “horrific” wave of online criticism after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s representatives condemned his remarks.
Speaking on The Daily Expresso podcast, Dolan claimed he became “a marked man.” According to him, a spokesperson for the Sussexes said they were “disgusted” by his comments. He alleged that the statement was followed by a flood of abusive messages and veiled threats.
In the conversation with host JJ Anisiobi, the TV presenter stated, “It’s been an extraordinary experience. It’s been devastating. It’s been horrific. It’s been a white-knuckle ride. It’s been unsettling, it’s been disturbing, and it’s been deeply wrong.”
Dolan explained that a journalist’s role is to collect information, apply critical thinking, and present analysis to readers and viewers. Their job is to report the news, not to be part of it. However, he claimed that the Sussex PR operation had shifted the focus onto him instead.
The dispute stems from remarks Dolan made on royal commentator Tom Sykes‘ podcast.
There, he raised the possibility of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle setting up a “rival royal court” in the future.
“I literally said teenagers and then clarified by saying young adults,” the 52-year-old clarified. “This is not Dolan beating up on a five-year-old. I’m talking about the future of the Royal Family.”
Additionally, the English broadcaster stated, “They have twisted it to create the impression that somehow I have attacked young children, and it’s not true. I’m talking about the future of the Royal Family.”
“I’ve been attacked by the Sussex Squad before online. It’s horrible. They are relentless,” he further revealed. When questioned about death threats, Mark Dolan said that someone sent him a message warning, “it doesn’t end well for you.”
