Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has been under fire since 2022, when allegations against him came to light. His close ties to Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier and convicted human trafficker and abuser, brought him scrutiny. According to the allegations made by Virginia Giuffre, she was forced to have sex with Andrew while she was underage. She took the disgraced royal to court, where they would reach a settlement. Sadly, Virginia would allegedly take her life in April 2025.
Andrew would continue to face backlash for his actions, with many royal supporters calling for Buckingham Palace to take a stand. He recently gave up his titles, like the Duke of York. However, he was still called Prince Andrew and lived on royal property until that all changed today.
Prince Andrew will move to Sandringham, fully funded by King Charles

In an official Buckingham Palace statement, we learned that Andrew was stripped of his title.
“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” it read. “Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.” Additionally, “Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”
The Palace has been met with scrutiny for failing to make a statement. Now, in a significant move, King Charles III has taken a stance, choosing to distance the family from his younger brother. However, he will finance Andrew’s new residence. Further, Andrew has continued to deny the allegations.
