Jason Kelce visited Travis‘ new streakhouse in Kansas City and recalled a humorous moment with their father, Ed Kelce. He shared the story on their New Heights podcast as the two brothers sat down to talk. The elder brother recalled that Ed and he came to 1587 Prime during a weekend, which involved a stunned waitress and a memorable meatball moment.

Jason Kelce told his brother Travis that he had visited his restaurant with Ed Kelce. However, Ed has trouble hearing and had to lean over while the waitress was reading their menu. He recalled his dad whispering that he couldn’t hear a thing that was being said. Jason said, “The waitress is listing off all these things, and you know Dad can’t hear, right? He whispers to me, ‘I can’t fking hear a single thing she’s saying.'”
He added (via New Heights podcast), “And all he does – while she’s still talking – he just blurts out, ‘Whippercotta Meatballs.’ Not loud, just blurts it out. She’s like, ‘Oh yeah, the Whippercotta is nice.’ And I’m like, ‘Oh no, no, he’s ordering that…’ It was so funny.”
Travis Kelce, in partnership with Patrick Mahomes, opened a restaurant in Kansas City, naming it 1587 Prime after their jersey numbers. As for Jason, he has high praise for some of the menu’s signature items.
The big brother recalls eating the Big Red Burger, which they named after Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. He had also ordered meatballs with whipped ricotta and a cheese steak. Jason had cocktails called ‘The Alchemy,’ which they named after Taylor Swift’s song.
