Jay-Z Paternity Case Has Major Update After 10-Year Legal Battle

Did Jay Z father a secret love child? Well, we may never know as the legal battle for a paternity test has seemingly come to an end. A California judge has just thrown out the case and barred it from being refiled.

Jay-Z’s paternity case has officially been dismissed

Stefon Diggs isn’t the only one who has been dealing with paternity issues. Jay-Z has been locked in a battle with a man who claims the rapper is his dad.

But in the latest turn of events, a judge has dismissed the paternity case, per E! Online. The potential lovechild is Rymir Satterthwaite, now a grown man. His mom had sought to establish Jay-Z as Rymir’s biological father before she died of a terminal illness in 2019.

The woman claimed to have had a short relationship with the musician in the mid-1990s. She said another man could have been the father, but a paternity test ruled him out, so she believed Jay-Z was her son’s dad.

The back and forth has been going on for years, with legal filings in the paternity case dating back to 2010. Since Rymir’s mom’s death, his godmom has taken over the legal battle as his legal guardian.

The case’s dismissal didn’t come down to DNA results, but rather legal and procedural reasons. The case ran into problems with jurisdiction (basically which court had the right to hear it), and the filings didn’t meet the requirements to move forward. The judge also applied California’s anti-SLAPP law, which allows early dismissal of lawsuits seen as baseless or meant to silence someone.

Rymir told the Daily Mail earlier this year: “I really want to resolve this. I don’t want any money. I just want the truth. I’ve been through a lot. I could take me being embarrassed. I just can’t take him not saying nothing. It is not fair. I am coming to the courts for the truth.”

Jay Z has always denied he is Rymir’s father.
