Travis Kelce’s ex, Kayla Nicole, appears to have deactivated her X (formerly Twitter) account amid backlash from Taylor Swift’s fans, who dug out old, problematic posts dating back to the early 2010s. Notably, Nicole appears to have been in a longstanding cold war against Taylor Swift and her fanbase.
Kayla Nicole deletes Twitter amid backlash
It appears that Travis Kelce’s ex, Kayla Nicole, who went by the username iamkaylanicole, has deleted her X account. A Taylor Swift fan account, swiftiexzquad, shared a compilation of Nicole’s past tweets in a thread, which includes racist and homophobic statements allegedly written by Nicole on her X account.
The posts that date back to the early 2010s have gained traction among Swifties on the internet. For those unversed, there appears to be an unspoken, ongoing cold war between Swift and Nicole. The pop icon took a swipe at her fiancé Travis Kelce’s ex on her song “Opalite.”
Shortly after, Nicole appeared to have thrown shade at Kelce and his fiancée in a new Halloween avatar. The ex-sports reporter performed to Toni Braxton’s iconic 2000 hit song, “He Wasn’t Man Enough.”
The song title and the lyrics appeared to allude to Kelce and Swift. Fans on the internet were convinced it was a swipe at her ex and his current partner, though Nicole did not explicitly mention their names.
As the backlash on the internet grew, the influencer clarified her stance on her The Pre Game with Kayla Nicole podcast. She explained that she once had a “white best friend” and that her name was Taylor. Once Nicole was hanging out at her friend’s place when she heard her friend’s mother play “He Wasn’t Man Enough.”
Nicole revealed, “Her mom was playing this song, playing it at the top of her lungs. It was just like an ah-hah moment that, ‘Wow, white people listen to Black people music as well.’”
However, it appears Swift’s fans weren’t convinced by her clarification, as they continued to unearth old, problematic tweets from Nicole’s X profile. As of yet, Nicole hasn’t commented on the issue.
