When Bethenny Frankel announced on August 21 that she was leaving Real Housewives of New York, everyone was stunned. Viewers were stunned. Her RHONY co-stars were stunned. It was the departure that no one expected.
Bethenny’s new man, Paul Bernon, is very private and doesn’t want to be on camera, so that could be one reason for Bethenny’s departure. There were also rumblings that Bravo executives were angry for months that Bethenny had plans to produce unscripted shows for television with Mark Burnett.
Teresa Giudice’s history on Real Housewives of New Jersey has all the makings of a Shakespearean drama. In 2014, Teresa and her husband, Joe Giudice, plead guilty to federal fraud charges. He was sentenced to 41 months
in prison at camp, and Teresa received a sentence of 15 months. Teresa was released from prison on December 23, 2015.
Joe was transferred to ICE custody after finishing his prison stint in March. Since Joe is not a United States citizen, he was ordered to be deported to Italy. He is appealing that order in hopes of returning home to his wife and four daughters. During the Season 9 RHONJ reunion, Teresa revealed that if her husband is sent off to Italy, they are going to divorce. So much for old-school values! Teresa has been seen holding hands with another, much younger man, but her attorney has assured the world that they are only friends. Really? That seems very friendly.
Real Housewives of New Jersey has always been about family. We watched former “OG” Caroline Manzo wrangle her brood, and became invested in Teresa Giudice and her extended family. These familial connections, whether close or strained, have always been the heart of this franchise. And so has the glorious food. Remember Kathy Wakile’s cannoli and dessert creations? Just please don’t bring sprinkle cookies to Teresa’s house. Or she might flip a table.
Teresa’s sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, had some tension last season with Teresa. Teresa found that Melissa’s inability to control her husband (and Teresa’s brother), Joe Gorga, was really annoying. Melissa remarked that there are some “shocking” moments in the upcoming season between the sisters-in-law. Melissa also discussed how she is taking on Danielle Staub next season. But what Melissa hasn’t done is tried to mend fences with RHONJ alum Kathy.
Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jennifer Aydin is teasing what is coming up for Season 10, and it sounds epic! Jennifer said that we have the fiery Teresa Giudice back. Buckle up, and bolt down any tables in Teresa’s vicinity.
Tequila monster Jennifer and RHONJ co-star Melissa Gorga were seen arguing at a Hampton’s restaurant. In another incident, Margaret Josephs and Danielle Staub continued their feud by throwing water at each other, and allegedly lighting a purse on fire. Yikes!
Season 9 of Real Housewives of New Jersey was epic on so many levels. You had simmering tension between Melissa Gorga and her sister-in-law Teresa Giudice. There was outright aggression when Margaret Josephs pushed Danielle Staub’s then-husband, Marty Caffrey, into Jennifer Aydin’s swimming pool so he could cool off. And there was that girls’ trip to Cabo where Margaret hurled a glass of wine at arch-enemy Danielle, resulting in a melee. At the reunion, Teresa announced that she will be splitting with her husband, Joe Giudice, if he is deported. That is a lot to handle.
So, what does Season 10 of RHONJ have in store for us? So far, we have learned of an argument between Melissa and Jennifer at a restaurant in the Hamptons. Danielle and Margaret were also involved in a fight at Steven Dann’s store in Great Neck. Supposedly, Margaret poured water over Danielle’s head. Danielle retaliated by lighting Margaret’s purse on fire. Pretty soon, the Jersey Housewives will be banned at all restaurants and will be filming in fast-food joints. Or someplace where there is no glassware, no open flames, and the tables are bolted to the floor.
Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Dina Manzo and her then-fiancé David Cantin were the victims of a traumatic home invasion in 2017. The couple had just returned from Audriana Giudice’s first communion.
Audriana is the daughter of RHONJ stars Teresa Giudice and her husband, Joe Giudice. Dina is Audriana’s godmother, and Audriana’s christening was documented on the show. It was nice to see a sweet and happy occasion with no flipping tables or screaming matches. And without anyone being tossed in a pool.
Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice’s husband, Joe Giudice, won a small victory while waiting to see if he will be deported to his native Italy. While he is waiting to find out the court’s final decision, he can stay in the United States but will remain in ICE custody. As you may recall, the couple plead guilty to federal fraud charges, and served staggered prison sentences so that one parent could be at home to care for their daughters.
Joe was taken by ICE after completing his prison sentence. Teresa took their four daughters to visit Joe on May 22 for Joe’s birthday. It was their first time visiting him while Juicy Joe was in ICE custody.
It seems that Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Danielle Staub and her newest fiancé Oliver Maier, have been receiving some unwanted attention from his ex. Of course, drama always finds Danielle. Why isn’t she a full-time Jersey Housewife?
Last season on RHONJ, Danielle’s antics leading up to her wedding to Marty Caffrey would make a bridezilla blush. Shortly thereafter, the couple separated but continued their acrimonious behavior leading up to their divorce. The ink on Danielle and Marty’s divorce papers was still wet when Danielle announced that she was engaged to businessman Oliver. It happened one week after her divorce was finalized. You must admire Danielle’s ability to
trap men find love so often. After all, as Teresa Giudice pointed out in Season 1, Danielle had already been engaged 19 times. If you add in Marty and Oliver, that means she has been engaged a whopping 21 times. That is table-flipping unbelievable!
