Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Phaedra Parks is moving on in the New Year with a new man. Phaedra is garnering lots of attention lately because “OG”Housewife (and former enemy) NeNe Leakes wants Phaedra to once again clutch a peach as an Atlanta Housewife. One thing is for sure –we need some drama back on RHOA, and Phaedra, who is an attorney, funeral director, and thong-enthusiast, is just the shady lady to bring it!
Phaedrawas fired from the show following Season 9 because she spread a vile rumor that Kandi Burruss, and her husband, Todd Tucker, wanted to drug and sexually assault co-star Porsha Williams. Phaedra absolutely deserved to be fired. But right now, she is moving on from the past, at least as far as her love life is concerned.
The drama began when Kandi threw Todd Tucker a Michael Jordan themed 45th birthday party. Being benevolent (Or something like that!) Kandi invited Porsha and Dennis McKinley. And because parties are gathering places to bring people together from all sides of the spectrum Kandi also invited her “worker” Jami. Jami happens to be friends with Dennis’ ex Sherri. Sherri happens to be tattooed on Dennis’s body, and Jami happened to bring Sherri as her plus one. And then Sheri happened to loiter around Porsha and Dennis until Porsha walked away, then Sherri walked over to Dennis and gave him a hug and a kiss, just as Porsha happened to walk back over. Obviously Porsha got a little miffed and confronted Sherri. Wouldn’t you?
Kelly accused Vicki of breaking “girl code” by going on a double-date with Vicki’s boyfriend, Steve Lodge, one of Vicki’s friends, and Kelly’s ex-husband, Michael Dodd. She was furious by Vicki’s betrayal. Now, she isn’t a big fan of Steve’s, either. Still, that issue drove most of the season to its exciting lackluster conclusion.
Now, I must say that the RHOA cast is always showing their style, whether it is from the 90’s or present day. (I support your fashion choices, Shamari DeVoe!) But all these fights about labels and fashion sense are messy. And not in a fun way.
“Tonight, I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, fair amount of prayers and the benefit of science, if all goes according to plan, in about six weeks’ time, I’m going to become a father thanks to a wonderful surrogate who is carrying my future,” an emotional Andy said.
I’m not saying that Real Housewives of New Jersey is recycling old storylines and creating manufactured drama, but I’m not NOT going to say that. I guess it’s the curse of all of the long-running franchises, but sheesh! Joe Gorga, spend time with your dad. It will appease your sister Teresa Giudice. And she’ll go easier on your wife Melissa Gorga. However, what will become of your wife’s storyline if this happens? Also, newbies, stop trying so hard to be relevant. The pot stirring, the Chanel obsession, the article writing! Jackie Goldschneider and Jennifer Aydin are overachievers in this department. I guess they learned from watching the likes of Dolores Catania and Danielle Staub (except for the writing part). Exhausted, party of one here!
Back from Bimini, the women are easing back into their daily Jersey routines which includes coffee for Margaret Josephs and lots of screaming kids for the others. Dolores is still harping on ex-husband and roommate Frank Catania for omitting his whole “I got disbarred” conversation from their narrative. Across town, Jackie is lunching with Melissa who is stressing over the party she’s throwing for her son Joey’s first communion. Haven’t the Gorgas learned to keep their drama out of the church, especially where Joey is concerned? Jackie questions the status of Melissa and Tre’s relationship. Then, Melissa shares they two reconciled in Bimini. Jackie reveals that she’s sought the counsel of Dolores, but she’s not yet willing to extend the olive branch. Melissa hopes that Jackie will make her life easier by being the bigger person. Obviously, she knows she can’t count on Teresa for that!
