Kate Gosselin comes out victorious in a new court ruling. The Judge overseeing the Gosselin’s divorce case has now ordered Jon Gosselin to return $180,000 to the couple’s joint account.
The $180,000 is part of the the $230,000 Kate accused Jon of taking from their shared account, which was in violation of an arbitrator’s previous order.
“The remaining sum of $55,000, which Ms. Gosselin used for household bills and expenses relating to the children, will be subject to further determination by the arbitrator at a later date,” Kate’s lawyer, Mark Momjian says in a statement on Tuesday.
“As difficult as this has been for me, I am pleased that the Court has ruled fairly on behalf of myself and my children. Now that this matter has been ruled on, I look forward to returning to private arbitration, as we have agreed to do, to resolve any remaining issues,” Kate adds.
Jon has until October 26 to pony up the cash or face potential contempt charges.
This is all the more interesting considering Jon had previously lied denied taking out the $230,000 amount Kate accused him of taking.

Kate is happy because she is right! A judge agrees with her so now she has one up on Jon Plain and simple these two are trying to out do each other in the media.
I am sure that she has an exact accounting of the $55 grand that was used for household expenses and the kids. Then another accounting of what she has gotten for free from being on the show. She is a little
OCD she covers her ass and is always right, maybe that is the reason for not going to therapy w/Jon as he contends?
Private arbitration are you kidding me, when do they do anything private I predict that they will never go away and that this will just get more awful as the days go by
Jon proved Kate right when she asserted that he took the money and he proved himself to be an outright liar when brought into a court of law. It’s being postulated that he was ordered to return $180,000 by Oct. 26 because that’s all that is possible for him to return at this point. If he doesn’t return it, he’ll be held in contempt of court.
I don’t see Kate having any problem accounting for $55,000. That was part of a silly attempt at a smokescreen thrown up by Jon and his criminal of a lawyer. And it’s interesting how Jon has lowered his claim from $2,000,000 to $1,000,000 that he says is missing.
Nancy Grace started her show tonight with, “A quarter of a million dollars gone. Allegations of illegal wiretapping, hacking into bank accounts, cell phones, claims of x-rated sleepovers with the eight children asleep upstairs…” It was obvious that she was having to bite her tongue when, after she’d presented all the legal facts stacked against Jon, ditzy people would call in saying things like, “I heard that Kate was real mean to Jon on that show.” She would explain AGAIN that how Kate spoke to Jon on the show didn’t matter, the subject was what kind of punishment Jon will receive for breaking the law.
She made sure everyone saw the clip of Jon telling Mary Hart that Kate was lying and that he only took $22,000. She said that Mary Hart didn’t believe Jon for a moment. “Now she’s thinking that the American public is going to believe her over me. I have to defend myself from that,” Jon-Jon said. It was agreed that stealing the money and lying about it was the worst possible move Jon could’ve made. He told the judge that the money he took amounted to a paycheck and was the money ‘owed’ for the ‘work’ he’s done with TLC.
Jon’s lavish lifestyle was brought to the forefront again with special attention paid to his tiny bachelor pad at
$5,000 a month. Also mentioned was the $27,000 ring he bought for Hailey Glassman, which I’d completely forgotten. At one point, Nancy Grace actually mimicked Jon whining about Kate hiding money and smirked about him saying he was trying to “restore family values”. “I never thought I’d hear Gosslin say he was restoring family values, but that’s a whole other nut to crack,” she said.
Nancy Grace also made it clear that she didn’t appreciate him leaving out the fact that Kate also pays $7,500 a month in child support, not just him. She rolled her eyes when reminded that he plans to demand that Kate pay HIM alimony.
What kind of man demands that the mother of his eight children support him in his lavish lifestyle with other women? Then again, what kind of man secretly takes $230,000, goes on national TV accusing his wife of lying about him taking it, admits to a judge that he took it, then tries to get his wife, mother of his eight children, into trouble with the law?
I’ll continue to assume he took the full $230,000 until it’s proven otherwise. If he doesn’t return the money, he’ll be held in contempt of court and face possible jail time. Imagine the withdrawal he’ll suffer if his camera time is suddenly regimented.
