The season finale of The Bachelorette aired last night with Ali Fedotowsky choosing Roberto Martinez as her final pick. Above is a picture of the couple taken last night in LA.
Roberto then got on one knee and proposed to an accepting Ali, which seemed like a traditional ending for the ABC hit show. The surprise of the night however came when Ali, 25, told finalist Chris Lambton, a 33-year-old contractor from Cape Cod, Mass., that she was in love with Roberto — just before the two were supposed to go on their final date, definitely a first in the show’s history.
“I’m in love with somebody else. I have to let you go here and not wait until tomorrow. This wasn’t an easy decision. It was really hard. I just didn’t want to put you through tomorrow because I know that’s going to be so hard,” said Ali to Chris.
Roberto, 26, had longed been the front runner of the show from the start, after receiving the first impression rose from Ali. Oddly enough, this is the first time in the show’s history that the person who received the first impression rose came out the winner.
“I love Roberto,” gushed Ali. “I love him. I’ve never ever in my whole life felt this good in a relationship.”
Ali and Roberto also appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show Monday night, during which Ali revealed she and Roberto would like to walk down the aisle “in the spring” of next year.
Now that the show is over, the question on everyone’s minds is who will be the next Bachelor? It has been rumored that Ty Brown from this Bachelorette season was being considered, but according to the show insider, Reality Steve, ABC would like Chris Lambton for the upcoming season.
Reality Steve reported yesterday that Chris, 33, has been offered the next Bachelor spot and that he will likely accept. The official announcement will come from ABC any day now.

Ali made a big mistake, I cannot this will last.
She should have picked Chris, he is more loving and family person, whereas Roberto will break her heart soon. Listen up
I wish Ali a good luck. I stopped watching this show just after first episode after found out that many people who are on the show are not THAT serious about finding a love of their lives or long term commitment. Why bother to watch it if they’re playing game about finding love of their lives? I don’t agree with the ideas of playing game with some people that are serious about finding a soul mate. That is why I lost my interest in these kind of shows.
she picked the wrong guy. After leaving the resort it won’t be so appealing and he will be bossing her around. They will not get married. You could tell from the interview on GMA that he was not in any hurry to pick a date. Soooo typical

Call me superficial, but I couldn’t get over the fact this dude couldn’t get his collar to lie down before the final rose. They appear to have “helpers” as you could see one helping Ali . . I didn’t like him anyway, Chris was my pick from the start. Yeah he’s a tough nut to crack, but still waters run deep . . . classy guy.
They seem like great people and I’m very happy for them. I think they’ll go the distance!
I think Ali should have picked Chris, but her connection with Roberto is undeniable. I wish them the best and hope that their love will stand the test of time. Great season!

I think a new season with Chris would be rather boring. He is a nice guy, but not very exciting. I wish the best, but I would not watch a new season with him as the lead person.
Pig-nosed, fat-ass Ali steps out with Enrique Iglesias wannabe. Who ever said she was hot enough to be on this show and her stupid stupid name. Even Bob Dylan changed his name and rightly so, imagine how he would’ve done with a name as stupid as hers.
Sorry, Ali, but it will never work out. Now the San Diego girls that are 10 times hotter than her will be all over him. Maybe she’s a 5 on a scale of 1-10 in Southern Cal. She doesn’t stand a chance. The only chance they had would have been if she moved to North Carolina – she’d be a 7 or 8 there.
I wonder how many months these two will last. Here we go again! But, I would love watching Chris Lambton again as the next Bachelor! I’m selfish when I say I’m glad Ali didn’t choose him, because I definitely do not like Roberto and would not want to watch him as the next Bachelor! Seriously, I hope Chris recovers soon from his love lost and realizes that he really did dodge a bullet with Ali. She has a lot of relationship issues and he’s too good for that and doesn’t need that in his life.
Who does Ali remind you of showing off her ring and that look of happiness that surrounds her? Hint: J.P. and V.G. And, look at what happened to them. Ali and Roberto are such copycats. He actually got down on one knee to propose just like Jake did. But, he is no Jake in that category, or any category. Jake’s proposal to Vienna was the most romantic proposal I have ever seen. Sorry Roberto, you should have been more original, because you couldn’t measure up to Jake’s proposal. Will these two meet the same fate as J and V did? Time will tell!
Chris, you really did dodge a bullet. Be happy Ali didn’t choose you, you deserve so much better. Hope you realize that soon.
I can’t imagine anyone other than Chris as the next Bachelor. Surely none of the other bachelors from Ali’s season! Only Chris!
Ali followed her heart and Roberto is an intelligent stand-up guy! I think they make a great pair and best wishes to them!!!
