Peggy Tanous will not appear on the upcoming season of the Real Housewives of Orange County.
Vicki Gunvalson revealed the surprising news over the weekend during the Bravo Housewives tour in Atlantic City as she confirmed filming had indeed began on the seventh season of the Bravo hit show.
When asked if there were any changes with the cast, Vicki stated: “Peggy’s (Tanous) not going to be joining us this year so we have a new cast member–you have to watch what happens with her. I just met her a couple of times so I think it’s going to be ok.”
Wowzers! This also confirms what we’d been hearing which is that Alexis Bellino will be returning for the new season.
The news of Peggy’s departure is a bit shocking as she confirmed her return on her twitter page almost a month ago. After a fan asked her if she was kicked off the show in early September, Peggy replied, “Of course not. Start filming next week!!! Thanks for your support!”
Apparently Bravo had a change of heart.
Peggy has yet to comment on her likely firing though she did post this interesting quote on her facebook page days ago: “Good thought for a Sunday! “Rejection is God’s protection!” Love this quote thanks to my beautiful friend Annette years ago!”

UPDATE – Peggy has confirmed her departure. She claims she decided to leave the show on her own after doing some “soul searching”. Below is her statement via her facebook page -
“Hello Everyone, Many of you have been asking about season 7 and if I am returning. After months of negotiation and soul searching, I have declined their offer to return to the show. I just felt in my heart that being around the negative energy of certain cast members, being forced to have “dramatic” confrontations and the time it would take me away from my family was just not a healthy path for me. I loved being a part of the Bravo family and do look forward to any new endeavors this may bring. I already have several opportunities to host upcoming TV shows that will empower woman, as well as my husband and I are about to launch our own wine. Who knows, perhaps if many of you want to continue to follow me and my family’s lives, then a new show can be created! One of “real” family fun, natural life drama, holistic living, life lessons and experiences. thank you all so much for your love and support!”
Yea, I’m glad Peggy is going, too bad Tamara and Vicky aren’t going too, I think that all 3 of them just acted like mean girls in high school instead of acting like classy women who know how to behave and quit be so hypocritical about everyone else. I think all 3 of them need to grow up!!!!!!

I think it is interesting that Peggy was trying to get people to lobby for her return to RHWOC on her Facebook page. Now she claims that she declined their offer, oh please they probably didn’t want her back. And she says she doesn’t want to be around the negative energy, what a joke. She was right in the middle of it and was loving it. She doesn’t want the negativity yet she chooses to hand with Tamra……hmmmm don’t quite see how it can be avoided when you hand with her! Peggy knows that her house is or was in foreclosure and probably doesn’t aired on T.V.

I would have liked to see her on another season. I can’t watch any more if the next season includes Gretchen with sprinkles of Slade and Jeana.
Won’t miss Peggy at all but we still make fun of her runway walk so thanks for that, now go find some mean girls off of TV to hang out with
She looks like she is in her late 50′s sorry she wasn’t all that bad but boring, I never got the whole modeling thing from her. I liked her in the season though she was nice.

I’m not sorry at all. Talk about THE most boring addition to any housewives franchise EVER!! Peggy had no substance….just another fake LA follower. Way to befriend (brown nose) the two biggest shit talking bitches on the show!! Were those new oversized balloons put on her chest to distract us from that joker face? WHat is wrong with these LA old ladys???? From what I see, at least in Peggy’s case…plastic surgery makes you look older, and desperate!!!

In Shady, Shauna’s high school cheerleader outfit did you notice all of the rings and necklaces that she is wearing. In addition, in the Christmas picture all of the presents, carpet on the floor, a beautiful dress with nice and clean tights. The woman is always looking for a sympathy vote…I think she has made up so many stories and lies over the years…..total fabrication. ….Shady doesn’t know what to believe anymore.
Where are her parents, siblings, neighbors, friends, classmates…..no one has come out of the woodwork to comment about this loser.
I’d rather have watched another season getting to know Peggy sans Vicki, Tamara, and Alexis — even though I like Alexis. I could tell she was just going to turn her and Peggy into another Vicki and Tamara and I have to FF through them as it is.
Her leaving is her own doing. Instead of remaining faithful to her friend Alex, and siding with the good girls Gretchen and Jeana, Peggy thought she’d be cool hanging out with long-time bad girls Vicki and Tamra, and it wore her out. Oh well. Lesson learned.
I’m so sick of the OC Housewives and they’re fake, fluffed and filled ways. Its time to put the old work horses out to pasture.

Aren’t ALL of the “Housewives” lame? I only wach the shows for the pure unreality of it all. These women are wannabe actors with no skills. They all have something to pitch and they all create fake drama for the cameras. If they were really like what is portrayed on the shows we’d be reading about “murder in the OC” or murder in NYC”…etc. The only “real” thing that ever happened on these shows is when Russell Armstrong killed himself. Sadly, his horrid wife is using that to further her own career. Good riddance to Peggy and anyone else they decide to fire.There are always more sick women waiting in the wings to pick up the slack and who are seeking their 15 minutes of fame. Eventually, it will get to the point where they have to actually harm one another to get the attention that they seek. I wonder if Bravo is counting on that and waiting with baited breath for it to happen on camera? I can see the headline now, “Real Housewife of (fill in the blank) kills former friend on tonight’s show. Be sure not to miss the super-sized episode tonight 10/9″.

I’m sorry to hear that Peggy will not be returning to the real housewives of the oc, because I think she was a positive addition to the show. She got along with the other ladies and she saw Alexis for the fake person she and her husband were. I will miss Peggy and I wish she will consider coming back to the show the following season.
