Mariah Huq Weighs In On Real Housewives of Atlanta Reunion Brawl!

Mariah Huq is no stranger to wild, crazy behavior on reality TV! Obviously. Ahem… Toya Bush-Harris

And she's weighing in on all the drama surrounding her fellow-Bravo stars at the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion. You know the one where Porsha Stewart reportedly "dragged" Kenya Moore and Kenya called the cops and Porsha was maybe fired. Yeah, that drama.

Anyway, unsurprisingly Mariah explains that dealing with the likes of Krayonce could push anyone's buttons and that reality TV encourages outbursts.

"I always said what I wouldn’t do and then when I got on TV, things changed. It’s tough," the Married To Medicine star said on The Purple Girl radio show. "They hit you in a place that you didn’t know existed when those cameras come on."

"When those cameras come on, people get crazy and they get ratchet when the cameras go on. It’s tough. It’s really, really tough…I experienced this first season when it hit me in a place that I wasn’t prepared to deal with on TV, which was my kids," Mariah elaborates. "That was my Achilles Heel. I’m quick not to judge the other shows. It’s hard, honey.”

Mariah believes it's only natural that when a group of women get together (and add alcohol) things get catty – and that leads to things getting out of control. “When you get a group of women together, the shade just comes naturally," Mariah acknowledges. "The first episode had so much drama, it made me mad. It’s very real. The shade is real.”

Finally, Mariah weighs in on what makes M2M stand out from its reality TV contemporaries. “The thing that sets us apart, though, and the thing I loved about Married to Medicine is that you saw young black families, successful families," Mariah reminds us.

"Everybody had a degree. Everybody was married. Yes, you saw us with the struggle. You may have even seen us put on our ratchet hat every once in a while, but it was young, successful, happy black families and that’s beautiful.”

Married To Medicine returns this Sunday at 10/9c following RHOA. This season the cast adds two new starsDr. Heavenly Kimes and Lisa Nicole Cloud. Reality Tea will be live-tweeting and recapping the show so get ready!
