RHONJ Star Amber Marchese Undergoes Partial Mastectomy To Remove Cancer

Watch What Happens Live - Season 11

Six weeks after finding another lump in her breast, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Amber Marchese has underdone a partial mastectomy. As you’ll recall, Amber had a double mastectomy six years ago during her first battle with breast cancer, but the cancer has returned.

“The surgery was close to four hours,” Jim Marchese told E!. “They removed the tumor and more than 20 millimeters surrounding it. She was in a good deal of pain last night. She’s been resting and she is coming home today. After this, she’ll have five weeks of radiation and then another surgery.”

“She’s really appreciative of everyone’s thoughts and prayers,” continued Jim. “She’ll be back on her feet in a few days. She’s going to keep going and keep fighting.”

Earlier this month, Amber opened up about her recent diagnosis, from finding the lump to hearing “it’s cancer” again to staying positive for her kids.

“I’m going to handle this with grace, positivity, and faith,” Amber told E!. “I don’t know why this is happening to me, but it is. I have to turn it into an opportunity to raise awareness. Some good has to come from this.”

Amber remains in our thoughts as she recovers from surgery and moves onto the next phase of her treatment.
