LWLA’s Briana Renee Goes Off On Instagram! Doesn’t Understand All The Viewer “Hate!”

Part one of Little Women: LA, Matt and Briana Ride Or Die may be over, but the firestorm of negative attention on Briana Renee and her husband Matt Ericson is not. In reaction to Wednesday night’s infuriating, frightening, and baffling show, fans have bashed the couple all over the internet. Reasons include Matt’s controlling (some claim “abusive”) behavior, Briana’s involvement of her daughter and unborn child in this insane mess, and the couples’ willingness to smear this garbage all over our TV screens.

Despite Matt and Briana’s very calculated decision to air their incredibly foul smelling dirty laundry hither and yon, Briana is now asking viewers not to “judge” her unless they know the full story. Um. We know the 43-minute Lifetime story that reaches into our living rooms each week courtesy of LWLA, and the one that now extends its tentacles even further into our psyches with this PAID spinoff! I, for one, base my judgment off of that alone.

On Instagram yesterday, Briana posted the following quotation, apparently in reaction to the tsunami of negative reaction after her special aired the night before.

Briana also ranted to viewers, “There’s always more to what meets the filtered eye… Part one of the special is over and all I get is hate but until you live a day in my reality you will never be able to relate. For those who are supportive I appreciate you… It’s easier to throw judgement, and say just walk away, than it is to listen and try to understand someone’s perspective. #alwayslookingup”

So, if viewers will never be able to relate to the Little Women: LA couple unless they are literally living their lives for them, it begs the question: Why do a 2-hour special on the massive f-k’d-upedness of your relationship? Why not head on into therapy (the real kind, not the reality TV kind) and leave the cameras behind? I can guess the answer to both of those questions.

For a reality star who calls herself a “fierce mama” on social media, Briana seems more like a victim of Stockholm Syndrome when it comes to her marriage. On the special, she does stand up for herself for a brief moment toward the end, when she tells Matt he’s not welcome back home yet. But will that resolve last long enough for her to gain any clarity? It remains to be seen, but my Magic 8 Ball says: Doubtful.

From her rant yesterday, I’d say Briana is still feeling very much like a victim – isolated, wronged, and misunderstood. And those ain’t the characteristics of a fierce mama. Those are justifications for staying firmly planted in this big ole’ mess.

TELL US: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF BRIANA’S RANT? ARE FANS BEING TOO HARD ON HER, OR SHOULD SHE ACCEPT THE BACKLASH AS A RESULT OF PUTTING HER LIFE ON REALITY TV?
