Luann is done groveling

Luann de Lesseps Couldn’t Care Less Whether Carole And Bethenny Want Her Friendship

In her latest Real Housewives of New York blog, Luann de Lesseps shares that she’s done, done, done.  The Countess is over Bethenny and Carole, she’s over trying to apologize, she’s just over it all.

Lu starts off, “I’ve been spending quite a bit of time with Tom in Palm Beach, so I threw a cocktail party for the girls at Hunt & Fish Club NYC so we could catch up. Bethenny and Carole didn’t even bother to RSVP so when Ramona pulled me aside to chastise me for not reaching out more to them, I had no choice but to defend myself. I’ve apologized more than enough to Carole, and she still is holding a grudge. At this point, I feel that I’ve extended an olive branch to her multiple times and she refuses to accept it. Carole now needs to meet me halfway for us to have any chance at being friends. Ultimately, I couldn’t care less whether Carole or Bethenny want my friendship because I’ve reached my limit, and I’m done apologizing.”

She continues, “I’m thinking about bringing the girls down to Palm Beach for the weekend, and Sonja is definitely invited. Loyalty is sometimes lacking in this group, but Sonja has been there for me and I’ve been there for her.” But Carole is not getting an invite for Luann’s getaway.  No more Mr. Nice Guy.  She writes, “As for Carole, I’m not inviting her. I want to have a fun, relaxing time with my friends and bringing her negativity into the mix would ruin any chance I have of enjoying the weekend. Also, I’m not going to debase myself to gain back her friendship, and if that is what she wants, she’ll be waiting till hell freezes over. You are seeing a side of me that people rarely see because I’m tolerant and forgiving up to a point but this is just ridiculous!! I know I’ve been in Lulu-land spending time with Tom and maybe have neglected my friends, but ultimately they should be happy for me.”

Luann defends Jules, who is pretty fragile at the moment.  She thinks that the ladies (namely Bethenny and Carole) need to lighten up and back off of Jules with their mean-girling.  “I’m worried about Jules. Her relationship with Michael seems strained, she’s been in poor health and it seems like she’s struggling to remain optimistic. The girls read way more into Jules’ practical calzone joke than was necessary. She was being funny and trying to lighten up the mood and instead had to endure questioning from Carole and mean jokes from Bethenny. She’s right about Bethenny being funny at other peoples’ expenses. Jules is way more self-deprecating and humble than Carole or Bethenny, and I hate to see her being picked on by these girls. I’m hoping that her health improves, that Michael steps up and helps her more and that she knows she is loved. Her joke about asking for late checkout from the hospital was priceless! It gives me hope that she’ll come through this with her spirit intact. As for Carole giving medical advice to Jules about ADD and medication, I think she’d be better off sticking to what she knows.”

Do you agree with Lu’s take on Jules?  I personally think it’s uncomfortable and hard to watch her unravel. Maybe Bethenny and Carole shouldn’t have called it out, but…
