Bethenny Frankel Tweets About Wanting To Adopt A 5 Year Old Girl & How She Is Not Legally Able To

When Bethenny Frankel read an article about a five-year-old girl who was found abandoned at a bus terminal, she was compelled to help. To make the story even more sad, it is suspected that the girl’s father killed her mother and abandoned his own daughter at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Bethenny tweeted about how she wants to adopt the child and she was very serious.

Bethenny also tweeted about how even though she wants to help the girl and provide for her that she is actually not able to for a plethora of legal reasons.

Bethenny quoted a tweet from the People Twitter account with a link to the article and wrote, “How do I adopt this child?” And apparently the Real Housewives of New York star had a very serious intent when she posted that. In response to a fan who told her “OMG Bethenny please do. Poor kid,” Bethenny said, “I am serious.”

It’s clear that Bethenny really did look into this since she responded to another tweet to explain why she couldn’t make this a reality and how frustrated it made her. Bethenny tweeted, “Lawyer says once with the state a private adoption impossible which is now upsetting me more. That is bullshit.”

Bethenny expressed her displeasure with the adoption system with this tweet: “There’s a misconception that everyone wants an infant. Because of this rule, babies are the only option. Once in system kids are lost. Sad.” Understandably, Bethenny was very upset that she could not provide this girl who’s already been through so much with a decent home. The Skinnygirl founder lamented, “Cuz the system is screwed like many things. Family law, divorce law etc etc.” And apparently Bethenny would not be able to foster the child either since she also tweeted, “They say no to foster or adoption which is so sad.”

Hopefully, this child is able to get the help and care that she deserves even if it is not from Bethenny.
