Giuliana Rancic has been bravely battling cancer in the public eye and the reality star has openly and honestly let fans share her journey. Tonight marks the premiere of Giuliana & Bill. This season the couple will give us a glimpse into their harrowing experience dealing with Giuliana’s diagnosis, all while still struggling to achieve their goal of having a child.

Speaking about the dramatic season and the events that took place during filming, Giuliana admits it’s been a struggle to accept her new body following a double mastectomy to remove cancerous tissue from her breasts. Months after the operation, Giuliana confesses she still felt self-conscious on camera.

“I’d be about to interview someone and I’d notice they’d see my pulling up the dress and [wonder] if they were looking at my boobs,” Giuliana shares. “It went from ‘I think I’m showing too much cleavage’ to ‘Cover these damn things up.’”

“I felt like my body let me down,” she tells Us Weekly.

And yesterday on the TODAY show, Giuliana, appearing along with husband Bill Rancic, gave fans an update on her health and her quest to become a mother. “I won’t be needing chemotherapy,” she reveals, but she is taking an oral medication that will continue to make getting pregnant difficult.

In light of the diagnosis and Giuliana’s continued treatment, the couple is considering adoption and surrogacy to achieve their goal of becoming parents. “We’re definitely having to explore other options… We absolutely want a child,” she explained.

“Whether you have a baby naturally, through adoption, through surrogacy, it’s your baby. You’re going to love that baby and that’s all that matters,” Giuliana added.

Giuliana and Bill are very much supportive of each other and this experience has strengthened their marriage. “It helped us find the humor in everything because when you go through something this tough, you have to, at some point, laugh, and get back to your normal life…,” Giuliana revealed of their incredible relationship. “It has reinvigorated our relationship and we’re closer than ever.” Bill agreed, “It makes the little things seem not so important.”

Finally, tonight Giuliana and Bill return for their fifth season and the couple allows us a first-hand glimpse into the moment that changed both their lives. A preview of the season premiere is below.
