There are some changes coming on some of your favorite reality shows. From Michael Phelps to P. Diddy, and NeNe Leakes to Kendra Bell, read on to find out what’s rumored to be happening on some of your guiltiest pleasures!
Whether you love her or hate her, you have to admit that Real Housewives of Atlanta’sNeNe Leakes knows how to manage her career. She turned her gig on RHOA to a guest starring spot on Glee, which in turn led to scoring a recurring role on an upcoming sitcom. Back when Kim Zolciak was filming Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding, there were rumors that NeNe was jealous for not getting her own spin-off. Well, it turns out she has had one in the works…I Dream of NeNe (amazing name, by the way). According to the Examiner, NeNe is the one who pulled the plug on the series because she felt at that time she wouldn’t be able to carry her own show. Apparently, NeNe did get a patent on the title, so the show could come to fruition in the future. Right now, she just wants to focus on her budding acting career. I guess good things do come to those who wait!
And now the real reasons come out regarding exiting American Idol judges. While Steven Tyler allegedly wasn’t asked back for next season, he’s not at all upset. In fact, Steven calls the show not his “cup of tea.”
Not that I’m surprised, but Steven has said that the show was basically just a paycheck that held him over while negotiating through the drama his Aerosmith band mates. Who knew American Idol could serve as just an interim distraction while he got his band back together?!
So the big question is, who will round out the judges’ panel? While rumors run rampant, I can say that there will likely be two seats filled. Why, you ask? It appears that longtime Idol fixture and judge Randy Jackson will be transitioning into a mentor role. He certainly has the credentials, and the contestants would surely benefit from his knowledge.
Jennifer Lopez is leaving American Idolbecause they told her to to focus on family and film. E! News recently caught up with the former judge to get her thoughts on Mariah Carey joining American Idol. Does Carey have what it takes?
“I think so, yeah! Why not? She’s a musician for a long time she has a lot of experience,” Lopeztold E! News. “And it’s that experience you offer them at the end of the day, the contestants just want to get better and grow through the process.”
Despite allegedly being fired from American Idol, Forbes has named Jennifer Lopez number one on their Celebrity 100 list. Why? Her amazing career resurrection! Oh, and the massive millions she’s pulled in as of late. Dating teenagers does wonders for one’s earning ability, I suppose.
Apparently basing their list not on talent, but on monetary success, social media prowess, and media visibility; Jennifer outranks even Oprah and Beiber this year. The former J.Lo earned $52 Million dollars in the last year alone. Holy hot pants that’s a lot of moolah!
Crediting Jennifer‘s amazing reincarnation from aging nobody married to Marc Anthony and a flailing attempt at the latin market, Jennifer’s star started rising again the moment she stepped onto the Idol judging panel.
Mariah signed on the dotted line today and it seems that she and J-Lo have more in common than having twin babies, as Mariah will be paid a whopping $12 million, the same amount that Jennifer was earning during her stint on the show.
TMZ reports that Adam Lambert and Miley Cyrus are still in the running for the other empty seat.
UPDATE: TMZ now says her paycheck for one season stands at $18 million!
TELL US – DO YOU WANT TO WATCH NOW THAT MARIAH HAS SIGNED ON? DO YOU THINK SHE’S WORTH TWELVE MILLION DOLLARS?
Last week both Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler announced they were leaving American Idol to pursue their own careers. However, a new report claims they were actually fired in response to falling ratings – and Jennifer seeking yet another pay raise!
According to The Wrap, Jennifer who was paid $15M last season, asked for a $2M raise to return. In response, Fox said no way, declining to even make her a counter offer! As for Steven, Fox opted not to renew his contract as they are seeking new blood in the hopes of restoring the show to its former dominance in the music competition marketplace.
