It seems MTV has run out of scripts as they are now announcing the upcoming season of The Hills will be the last.

The new and seventh season of the MTV reality show will debut April 27 with the airing of 12 episodes. “I think we’ve told the story of struggle and of finding yourself in L.A.,” creator Adam DiVello told Entertainment Weekly of the show.

Once upon a time, the Hills was MTV’s highest rated show, but has taken a recent hit in the past 2 years with low ratings. This past season brought a big decrease in ratings for MTV compared to the success and high ratings of their new hit – The Jersey Shore, which is currently filming its second season in Miami.

So what can we expect from the final season? It will kick off with Heidi Montag heading to Colorado to visit her parents, who see the results of her 10 plastic surgeries for the first time.

We can also expect to see Audrina Patridge dating singer Ryan Cabrera, and Kristin Cavallari dealing with rumors of drug abuse. “When Kristin was in Miami for the Super Bowl, there was definitely some late nights for her and some speculation that she might be partying a little too hard,” explains executive producer Liz Gateley. “So we’re definitely going to cover that part of Kristin. We’re pretty much covering everything you’ve read [about in the tabloids].” Also look for Stephanie Pratt to be dealing with sobriety, coming off her DUI last year.

When asked if the show’s biggest star, Lauren Conrad, would be returning to end this season, the show’s creator played coy, however promising a satisfying conclusion.

And unfortunately, despite the reports that Spencer Pratt was kicked off the show for 6 weeks for threatening a female producer, we can still expect to see him in most of the episodes, threatens promises DiVello.
