Dancing With The Stars Week 2 Recap: Some Sizzled, Some Fizzled

Last night brought us week two of Dancing With The Stars, after the judges deemed last week the best premiere ever! So did the stars continue to sizzle? Or did they buckle under the pressure?

For starters, British singer Katherine Jenkins proved her high score of 26 last week was no fluke as she matched the same score again Monday night, earning a pair of 9s for her high-energy jive with partner Mark Ballas. “The blonde bombshell is unleashed,” said judge Bruno Tonioli.

Katherine had some company at the top, as Disney actor Roshon Fegan also received a score of 26–a 3 point improvement from the previous week–for his fiery quick step with partner Chelsie Hightower. “I liked it,” said judge Len Goodman. “It was young, it was fresh and I thoroughly enjoyed it.”

Unfortunately for Urkel, a.k.a. Jaleel White, he and partner Kym Johnson fell to the middle of the pack after tying for first last week. Jaleel’s jive was panned by the judges with Len stating it didn’t have “crispiness.” He added: “It lacked real attack and speed.”

In last place was tennis legend Martina Navratilova with a score of 17. Martina, who scored a 20 last week, displayed very little rhythm in her jive with partner Tony Dovolani, even losing her footing early in the dance. “That was sad!” critiqued judge Carrie Ann Inaba with Len adding, “You have to come out and attack these dances and I didn’t see that.”

Tonight, one of these stars will be sent packing after the scores from the last two weeks are combined along with the viewers’ votes!
