Yesterday Bravo released the promo photos for the upcoming season of Real Housewives of New Jersey. And despite rumors that Kathy Wakile was going to return as a 'Friend of the Housewives' she wasn't featured at all save for a two second clip in the trailer of her feuding with Teresa Giudice over a canoli.
Kathy spoke out to E! News and confirmed she will be back in some capacity, but has largely departed from the show. "I'm so happy to be part of the Bravo family. I have enjoyed being a RHONJ Housewife and have now agreed to terms that give me the opportunity to film the show in a way which better suits my lifestyle," Kathy explains.

"I've been able to get to know the new girls on my terms while remaining free to focus on other great things, including the expansion of my businesses." Kathy released a dessert cookbook and is still working on her line of ready-made desserts, including branching out into gluten-free options. Kathy has also been dealing with the health of daughter Victoria, who recently underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor.
"With everything in life, the key to growing and evolving is adapting to change and what my family and close friends tell me, that is my strong suit," Kathy added.
"The most important thing is being happy, healthy and pursuing your dreams, which I have to say is something I get to experience everyday," Kathy shares. "I am looking forward to the viewers sharing with my family and I, including my sister Rosie [Pierri], in all we have been up to since last season and thank them for the continuous support." Rosie will also be back in a limited role.
Personally I think Bravo made the right decision in drastically changing this cast. After three seasons of the same stale storyline and the Gorgadice family feud viewers have grown tired of the promised resolution that will never come. This season I don't expect Melissa Gorga and Teresa to be besties, but I do expect that with fresh ladies will come fresh perspectives and an opportunity to 'spread the drama around'. While I enjoyed watching Kathy and found her to be refreshingly normal, she just didn't have the same… let's say desperation, of Melissa to be a break-out character willing to do anything for the show!
