Sadie Robertson was the “reality star” pick for Dancing with the Stars season 19. During her introduction, the Duck Dynasty star mentioned that dancing is strictly prohibited at the Christian school she attends in Louisiana. The 1984 cult classic Footloose immediately came to mind for many, myself included.
So is dancing truly 100% prohibited at Sadie‘s school? According to the school’s principal, YES! The school has a long-standing ban on school dances, including prom, he confirmed.
Despite her lack of experience, Sadie proved she was a serious contender last week when she and her partner, Mark Ballas, earned the second highest score of the night. And while the judges’ comments were largely favorable, Willie Robertson took issue with one of Julianne Hough‘s suggestions.

Last week, Julianne told Sadie, 17, that she will need to get “more down and dirty” if she wants to win. This isn’t the first thoughtless comment that has come out of Julianne’s mouth. I suspect it won’t be the last either. Le sigh.
Needless to say, Willie didn’t appreciate Julianne‘s comment. “Get off the down and dirty,” he said. “I’m going to talk to Julianne about that.”
I really like Sadie – and I hope she stays true to herself no matter what asinine comments come out of the judges’ mouths. Considering she is a minor and one of her parents will be with her every step of the way, I’m sure she will.
Check out Sadie and Mark‘s cha-cha-cha from last week. Do you think she has what it takes to win the mirrorball? She seems to be a natural, but I found her facial expression to be distracting. I hope she tones them down a little.
