Y’all know that the juiciest gossip surrounding the Love & Hip Hop franchise happens in Atlanta, and Mona Scott Young is always trying to keep it that way. That said, one hip hop star has made the rounds, appearing on the crazy Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta before flying north to liven up its more yawn worthy original New York counterpart. Of course I’m talking about K. Michelle! The boisterous talent even garnered her own reality show, K. Michelle: My Life.

Now, rumors are swirling that K. Michelle (and also Mona!) have something to do with the breakdown of the marriage between music executive Memphitz and his wife (and Lil’ Wayne’s ex-wife) reality star Toya Wright…but it’s not for the reasons you may think! Come, step inside my time machine…we’re going to rehash some things that went down in 2012!

Toya recently appeared on the Wendy Williams Show (to promote her and Wayne’s daughter’s episode of Super Sweet Sixteen), and she insinuated that legal woes and drama stemming from LHH: ATL were contributing factors in her separation from Memphitz. If you recall, three years ago when she appeared on the show (yes, the drama is long standing with this crew!), K. Michelle spoke about an abusive past relationship that was both romantic and professional…and the entire industry knew she was referring to Memphitz although she never mentioned him by name.

Madame Noire breaks down the interview. Speaking to Wendy of Memphitz’ professional downward spiral, Toya explains, “My husband started to feel like he was living in my shadow. When I met him he was a big music executive. He discovered talent like T-Pain, K. Michelle, all different types of artists. And to go from begin a music executive to being known as Lil Wayne’s ex wife’s husband…it just started to take a toll on him.”

She cites that his career started to suffer when he was working with K. Michelle. Toya tells Wendy, “He started mixing business with pleasure. He got into a relationship with his artist, K. Michelle and it was a lot of allegations that he beat her and stuff like that.”

When Wendy questions whether the abuse allegations K. Michelle shared on the show affected her marriage, Toya counters, “I wouldn’t say she affected my marriage. This is how I feel about the whole situation, there’s three sides to every story: her side, his side and the truth. And to be honest with you, no one knows the truth only the people in that room. And you know, we’re all going off the information that we believe to be the truth. So we all are entitled to our own opinion.”

Toya goes on to reveal that Mona asked the couple to come on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta so Memphitz could confront K. Michelle’s claims. Toya recalls, “Mona Scott Young asked Memphitz and I to join the show. And to me, that’s not something that I want to be a part of. And I didn’t feel that was the right thing to do for my marriage. We were newlyweds. To go on a show to go back and forth with your ex…I was like ‘No. You go on the show. I’m not going on the show.’”

At this point back in 2012, at his wife’s urging, Memphitz filed a law suit against his ex and the show’s parent company Viacom. According to Enstarz, Memphitz believed Toya was giving him an ultimatum,go on the show and their relationship would be over. He says, “She’s like, ‘You not ’bout to go on that show and defend yourself. You about to ton that show and be arguing back and forth with your ex-girlfriend over some petty [stuff] like that? That’s disrespecting me. I was like, ‘Disrespecting you?'”

Memphitz also posted the above-picture on his Instagram of himself sandwiched between his wife and K. Michelle. His caption? “The CoCo drove me LoCo.” Toya, who shared she would be open to a reconciliation with her husband, addressed the photo with Wendy, asserting, “You see he’s acting out on Instagram. How he chooses to deal with his stuff is how he chooses to.”

Man, just think if Mona had gotten her way! Would Stevie J. and Joseline Hernandez still be the most dramatic part of the show?

TELL US – DO YOU THINK THE STRESS OF K. MICHELLE’S ACCUSATIONS IS THE PARTIAL CAUSE OF MEMPHITZ AND TOYA’S SEPARATION? SHOULD HE HAVE GONE ON THE SHOW TO FACE K. MICHELLE?
